Method and systems for an EGR cooler including cooling tubes with a compliant region
Various methods and systems are provided for an exhaust gas recirculation cooler including a plurality of cooling tubes. In one example, an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler includes a plurality of cooling tubes positioned within a housing of the EGR cooler, each cooling tube of the plurality of cooling tubes extending between and directly coupled to tube sheets of the EGR cooler at ends of each cooling tube, where at least one end of one or more cooling tubes of a first portion of the plurality of cooling tubes, inward of a tube sheet coupled to the at least one end, includes a compliant region, where the first portion is positioned proximate to an exhaust inlet of the EGR cooler.
LOCOMOTIVE HEAT EXCHANGER APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A HEAT EXCHANGER APPARATUS
A locomotive heat exchanger apparatus includes a header having at least one opening, at least one tubular member joined to the header and having an interior passageway in fluid communication with the at least one opening, and a plurality of radial fins extending from the at least one tubular member. The tubular member and the plurality of radial fins may be formed as a unitary component via additive manufacturing without welding or interference fit.
EXPANDER FOR EXPANDING METAL PIPES
An improved expander for expanding metal pipes comprises a plurality of flexible rods (3), which are fed in parallel manner towards a corresponding plurality of parallel pipes (5) to axially insert respective expander mandrels (4) placed at the front end of the flexible rods (3) therein. The aforesaid flexible rods (3) are made in form of a harmonic steel stem with round section and smooth outer surface.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SERIES OF AT LEAST A FIRST AND A SECOND HEAT EXCHANGERS
In a method for producing a series of at least a first and a second plate and fin heat exchanger, each having at least one fluid distribution tank capping at least some of the openings of the matrix unit and which is connected to a pipe, the tank is partitioned into several compartments using at least one partition, so as to distribute the number of openings assigned to a first fluid and to a second fluid, the partition being designed to divide the said tank into several compartments which are each connected to a pipe for the passage of the first fluid or of the second fluid and which each communicate with a number of openings that varies according to the configuration adopted by the at least one partition, for the exchanger of the series.
HEAT EXCHANGER AND AIR CONDITIONER HAVING THE SAME
Disclosed herein is a heat exchanger including a corrugated fin and an air conditioner including the same. The corrugated fin includes a through hole through which a heat transfer tube passes, a corrugated portion formed in a zigzag shape in the first direction corresponding to an air flow direction and a flat portion provided in the plane adjacent to the through hole, and the flat portion has a first length in the first direction corresponding to an air flow direction, and a second length shorter than the first length in a second direction perpendicular to the air flow direction.
HEAT EXCHANGER, REFRIGERATION CYCLE APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HEAT EXCHANGER
A heat exchanger includes a plurality of plate-shaped fins disposed at intervals, and a plurality of heat transfer tubes disposed to be inserted into through holes of the fins in a direction perpendicular to the fins. In each of the fins, a starting hole is formed between adjacent through holes, and the starting hole serves as a start point of bending of the fins and has a vertex portion at a bending portion of each fin which is close to an edge thereof. In each of the fins, a cut is made to connect the other edge of the fin and a side of the starting hole which is located opposite to the vertex portion of the starting hole. The above each fin is bent at the vertex portion of the starting hole, by opening the cut from the starting hole.
Heat exchanger and method of making the same
A heat exchanger includes first and second sets of parallel arranged tubes. The first set of tubes extends along a first arcuate path, the second set of tubes extends along a second arcuate path, and each one of the second set of tubes is aligned in a common plane with a corresponding one of the first set of tubes. Corrugated fin segments are arranged in spaces between adjacent tubes, and crests and troughs of the corrugated fin segments are joined to broad and flat faces of the tubes. In making the heat exchanger, the material of the corrugated fin segment is intermittently slit to define breaking points prior to arranging the corrugated fin segment between the tubes.
Manufacturing device for heat exchanger
The present invention provides manufacturing method of a heat exchanger that, even if the position of a tube opening portion of a tube of a heat exchanger for which tube expansion is conducted, varies depending on the type of a heat exchanger, a mechanism adjusting the stop position of a flare plate as well as any complicated adjusting work therefor are not necessary and a heat exchanger in which flares in the same shape and in constant certain depth are formed at an opening portion of a tube of various kinds of heat exchangers having different total lengths in the longitudinal direction, and a device for a heat exchanger manufacturing method, and an air conditioner and/or outdoor unit thereof equipped with a heat exchanger manufactured using said manufacturing method.
