Blind tack bolt with higher clamp-up strength

A blind tack fastener includes a pull stem having an elongated shaft with an extended tail portion. The blind tack fastener also includes a crush-initiating washer, a crush sleeve, and a swage collar, surrounding the elongated shaft of the pull stem. The elongated shaft has a breakaway groove configured to create a predictive fracture point below the head-end surface of the swage collar, such that a hole in the swage collar serves as a centering lead-in for a drill that can be used to remove the blind tack fastener.

DRIVE UNIT FOR A SETTING DEVICE, IN PARTICULAR A RIVET SETTING DEVICE
20180021844 · 2018-01-25 ·

A drive unit is configured for a stamping rivet setting device and has an electric direct drive which contains motor components that concentrically surround a control element which can be linearly moved in the axial direction. In order to absorb the required torques while allowing a compact construction of the device, in particular in relation to a component side, a drive housing has an asymmetrical configuration in a connecting region between a main part and a guide part in which the control element is guided, for the purpose of asymmetrical torque transmission. In addition or alternatively thereto, the highly compact construction achieves an efficient cooling by an inner cooling unit, in particular air flowing through a free inner space in which the motor components are arranged.

Fastener installation tool

A pneumatically powered fastener installation tool (2) comprising floating pull (24) and return (26) pistons which are free to move axially within the main channel (22), thereby providing compliance when transmitting pressure from a double-acting pneumatic piston (16) and intensifier rod (18) to a head piston (6) thereby to install a fastener such as a lockbolt and preventing the generation of a vacuum condition on oil loss during the pull stroke of the tool.

Method and tool for installing a fastener

A method is provided for installing a fastener into an opening of a structure. The fastener includes a sleeve and a pin threadably received into the sleeve. The method includes inserting the fastener into the opening, grabbing a pintail of the pin, and deforming a tail of the sleeve radially outward relative to a centerline axis of the fastener by automatically displacing the pin longitudinally along the centerline axis relative to the sleeve. The method also includes rotationally shearing the pintail of the pin from a shaft of the pin.

CORNER HEAD STRUCTURE, A RIVETING TOOL WITH THE CORNER HEAD STRUCTURE

A corner head includes a driving body, a driven body, a bell crank, and a support pin. The driving body and the driven body both include a guiding portion. The bell crank includes first and second guided portions and is rotatable about the support pin. The guided portions are slidable within the respective guiding portions of the driving body and the driven body. When the driving body is moved in a first direction, the first guided portion is guided by the guiding portion of the driving body and moves in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction; the bell crank rotates about the support pin; the second guided portion is guided by the guiding portion of the driven body and moves in a third direction different from the second direction; and the driven body moves in a fourth direction perpendicular to the third direction.

Riveting tool

The invention relates to a riveting tool for setting blind rivet nuts and/or blind rivet screws, comprising a drive piston which is able to be hydraulically adjusted from an initial position toward an end position, a pull rod which is releasably and operatively connected to the drive piston and which is able to be adjusted by the drive piston from a rivet receiving position into a setting position and a coupling element fixing the pull rod and a drawing mandrel to one another in the longitudinal axial direction. In order to provide a riveting tool of the type mentioned above by which uniform setting processes of rivets may be carried out with a high degree of repeated accuracy, it is provided that the riveting tool for fixing the setting position has an adjusting unit with a stroke-limiting element which is axially adjustable relative to the coupling element in the longitudinal axial direction of the pull rod, said stroke-limiting element being in engagement with the coupling element via a stop surface in the setting position.

APPARATUS FOR MOUNTING BLIND RIVET

An apparatus for mounting a blind rivet, configured to mount the blind rivet having a rivet body and a mandrel on a board, may include a rivet holder accommodating a mandrel therein and pressing a rivet head towards the board, a mandrel holder positioned inside the rivet holder and moving separately from the rivet holder to hold and pull the accommodated mandrel, and an impactor positioned inside the rivet holder to accommodate the mandrel holder therein and applying pressure to the mandrel holder holding the mandrel, thus lifting the mandrel holder together with the mandrel.

The present invention is an electrical box cover system and method of installation that covers and protects existing electrical boxes and their electrical components. This invention prevents corrosion and the resulting damage to the mechanical and electrical components of the electrical box while ensuring the electrical box is safe to open and allowing access to the inside of the electrical box. The electrical box cover system includes a cover, fasteners, and a gasket. Generally, to install the cover, the fasteners are drilled through the cover and onto the sides of the damaged electrical box with the gasket, which is placed in the cover.

METHOD FOR ALIGNING A FIRST HOLE OF A FIRST PART WITH A SECOND HOLE OF A SECOND PART AND KIT FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION
20170182643 · 2017-06-29 ·

A method enabling two holes belonging to two parts to be aligned relies on use of a tool, comprising a body, having a first outer surface which gradually wanders from a longitudinal axis of the body as it extends from a first end of the body, and a hollow part having a second outer surface with a complementary section to the section of the holes. The hollow part comprises a hole through which it is removably mounted on the tool so that the second outer surface extends the first outer surface on an opposite side to the first end of the body. The method comprises inserting the first end of the body into the first hole, and then operating the tool to push the body and then the hollow part together into the holes. This method especially applies to the assembly of a floor module to an aircraft fuselage.
