A blind rivet setting device and method of setting a blind rivet. The device includes a housing; a pulling mechanism, arranged in the housing, that includes a chuck housing movable in a pulling direction and clamping jaws movable along a clamping distance in the chuck housing; an electric drive, structured and arranged to act on the chuck housing, that includes a control device; an electric battery structured and arranged as an energy source for the electric drive; and a spring structured and arranged in the chuck housing to apply a force to clamping jaws. For each clamping jaw, the chuck housing includes a guide path with a path base obliquely oriented to the pulling direction, and a back of each clamping jaw is supported against its respective path base over the clamping distance.

A power tool for joining a deformable element having a threaded shaft to a workpiece. The joining tool comprising a threaded dowel adapted to receive the threaded shaft and rotatably within the housing. A nose is arranged around the threaded dowel, and the dowel is slidably movable relative to the nose. A motor drives a drive train to rotate the threaded dowel. A hydraulic system drives another drive train to move the threaded shaft and compress the deformable element. The joining tool includes a sliding unit. The nose is attachable to the sliding unit, and in an attached position the nose is slidably connected to the housing so that the hydraulic system may move the nose axially to compress the deformable element.

A power tool for joining a deformable element having a threaded shaft to a workpiece. The joining tool comprising a threaded dowel adapted to receive the threaded shaft and rotatably within the housing. A nose is arranged around the threaded dowel, and the dowel is slidably movable relative to the nose. A motor drives a drive train to rotate the threaded dowel. A hydraulic system drives another drive train to move the threaded shaft and compress the deformable element. The joining tool includes a sliding unit. The nose is attachable to the sliding unit, and in an attached position the nose is slidably connected to the housing so that the hydraulic system may move the nose axially to compress the deformable element.

A bolt setting method and device for a nail-shaped bolt with a head and a shaft, ending in a tapered manner. The bolt setting method includes: joining the bolt into a component with a deforming stroke during which the bolt reaches a first joining speed of ≤4 m/s and the shaft completely penetrates the components with a portion of a maximum diameter with respect to a shaft length, without a bottom side of the head abutting the at least one component, and after the deforming stroke, driving the bolt into the at least one component until a head abutment of the bottom side of the head on the at least one component by at least one friction stroke with which a frictional connection between the shaft and the components is overcome and with which the bolt reaches a second joining speed that is smaller than the first joining speed.

A blind rivet nut-setting tool includes an output shaft defining a longitudinal axis. The output shaft is moveable along the longitudinal axis between a first position and a second position. A fastening tool includes a motor, an anvil, a pin-gripping part, a magnet having the north pole and the south pole aligned in a front-rear direction and configured to move integrally with the pin-gripping part in the front-rear direction, a first magnetic sensor having a first sensing surface, a second magnetic sensor having a second sensing surface and disposed rearward of the first magnetic sensor, and a control device configured to move the pin-gripping part rearward based on a detection result of the second magnetic sensor and to move the pin-gripping part forward based on a detection result of the first magnetic sensor. The first and second magnetic sensors are unipolar detection type sensors configured to detect a same specified pole of the magnet. Orientations of the first sensing surface and the second sensing surface relative to a movement axis of the magnet are opposite to each other.

An electrically-hydraulically powered riveter and lockbolt hand power tool is provided, having a battery driven electric motor mechanically powering an offset drive cam through a dual planetary drive gear, the drive cam being in direct mechanical contact with a single stage concentrically delivering longitudinally reciprocating piston pump being in direct hydraulic communication with a work engaging hydraulic cylinder surrounding a centrally fixed and stationary work engaging cylinder piston having a work piece puller shaft, wherein the work engaging hydraulic cylinder is thrust forward around the work piece puller shaft when the tool is activated thereby providing the mechanical motion to activate a user provided riveter nose assembly attachment. A multi-function valve provides essential hydraulic pump features integrated into a single simple component including over pressure relief, isolation of the work engaging cylinder cavity during pumping, and venting when the tool is deactivated.
