CARTRIDGE-TYPE RIVET FEEDING MECHANISM OF FLOW DRILL SCREWING DEVICE

Disclosed is a cartridge-type rivet feeding mechanism of a flow drill screwing device including a rivet box, a magazine for storing rivets from the rivet box, a rivet pulling mechanism including a rivet pulling block, a rivet pulling block guide housing and a linear driving unit connected with the rivet pulling block, a blowing mechanism including a curved connecting tube and a third air inlet, the rivet pulling block is defined with a T-shaped through hole capable of accommodating a rivet and configured for transferring the rivet from the first connecting tube to the second connecting tube. The first air inlet and the second air inlet are both configured for introducing compressed air to push the rivet to move towards the riveter head.

METHOD AND TOOL FOR INSTALLING A FASTENER
20220178398 · 2022-06-09 ·

A method is provided for installing a fastener into an opening of a structure. The fastener includes a sleeve and a pin threadably received into the sleeve. The method includes inserting the fastener into the opening, grabbing a pintail of the pin, and deforming a tail of the sleeve radially outward relative to a centerline axis of the fastener by automatically displacing the pin longitudinally along the centerline axis relative to the sleeve. The method also includes rotationally shearing the pintail of the pin from a shaft of the pin.

Machine tooling with a rotary punch

A tooling system has means for applying a vacuum to hold the fastener at the working end of the tool. A cavity in a hollow pusher pin has lateral ports for exclusively providing a airway between the vacuum source and the fastener. In other embodiments of the invention the pusher pin has fastener-gripping jaws in the form of balls moveable within lateral passageways in the pusher pin open into the cavity. The balls are biased inwardly against the fastener by an outer elastic band on the tool body which encircles the pusher pin. When adapted for installing magnetic-release type fasteners, the bottom end of the pusher pin is of reduced diameter for insertion into a magnetic release fastener. The fastener-receiving panel is supported by an anvil having a magnet whereby the fastener is released from the pusher pin as the fastener is pressed into the panel.

SETTING TOOL FOR BLIND FASTENERS

A setting tool comprising: a first electric motor with a first drive shaft, which is arranged in a first housing portion and is connected to a tool housing portion via a first transmission; a tool shaft connected to a screw tool, and the screw tool is movable between a retracted and an extended position; a feeder with a fastener delivery tube, the delivery tube for delivering blind fasteners in front of the screw tool when in the retracted position; a second electric motor with a second drive shaft is arranged in a second housing portion and is connected to the tool housing portion via a second transmission; and the delivery tube merges with the tool housing portion through a receiver assembly, the receiver assembly comprising an interface channel connecting the delivery tube with the tool housing portion, such that the screw tool can engage with the blind fastener.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DRILLING HOLES AND INSTALLING FASTENERS IN VEHICLE STRUCTURES

A system and method for drilling a hole in a vehicle structure and installing a fastener in the hole. A drill plate having openings and associated machine-readable elements is positioned on the structure. A drill gun is positioned in a particular opening and reads hole information from the associated element, and a computer determines whether the drill gun is properly set-up to drill the hole. A fastener insertion gun is positioned in the particular opening and reads fastener information from the element, and the computer determines whether the hole has been drilled and, if so, whether the fastener insertion gun is properly set-up to insert the fastener. A fastener delivery subsystem stores, tracks, and delivers fasteners to the fastener insertion gun. A system computer monitors the drilling of every hole, the insertion of every fastener, and the overall operation of the fastener delivery subsystem.

Method for checking a rivet

The disclosure relates to a method for checking a rivet, the rivet being transported from a rivet filling station along a transporting path in the direction of a riveting machine during operation of the riveting machine. The method is characterized in that the rivet is measured on the transporting path for determining a rivet geometry of the rivet. The disclosure similarly relates to a corresponding measuring arrangement for checking a rivet.
