Three-plate die casting mold having a sprue system and improved sprue separation, and die casting method
A three-plate die casting mold for producing a metal die-cast part by die casting a molten metal includes a first, second, and third mold part, where the third mold part is disposed between the first and second mold parts. Molten metal is feedable to a die cavity through a sprue system where the sprue system has a plurality of feed channels that are disposed in the third mold part and open into the die cavity. The plurality of feed channels have a respective tapering at a die cavity-side end where the respective tapering locally decreases a channel cross section such that a predetermined breaking point is generated during a die casting operation which allows a defined separation of the metal die-cast part from a sprue created in the sprue system when the three-plate die casting mold is being opened.
CONTAMINANT-PURGING COLD CHAMBER DIE CASTING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A die casting insert for producing die casted metal parts from liquid metal. The die casting insert has an outer casing shaped to be fixed in the die block of the die casting apparatus. The die casting insert also has a stopper with a purge opening that is adapted to evacuate contaminants topping the liquid metal as pressure is applied to the liquid metal. The stopper, fitted to mate with the hollow inner cavity of the injection sleeve, is constructed to seal the hollow inner cavity of the injection sleeve except at the purge opening when in a first position; and to permit the flow of the liquid metal into at least one molding cavity when the stopper is in a second position. The die casting insert also has an activation mechanism configured to shift the stopper between the first position and the second position.
CASTING DEVICE AND CASTING METHOD
A device for casting a metallic component comprising an outer undercut comprises a base body with a first end portion and a circumferential side wall comprising a tapering inner surface; a first die part that is insertable into the base body and that forms a first molding surface for the component to be cast; a plurality of side die parts, which are insertable into the base body and which, in the inserted state, are radially supported against the circumferential side wall of the base body and form a die ring comprising an inner molding surface for the component to be cast; a second die part which is moveable into the die ring formed by the side die parts to a casting position, and which forms a second molding surface for the component to be cast, wherein in the casting position, the second die part is arranged in a completely contact-free manner with respect to the first die part.
UNDERCUT PROCESSING MECHANISM, MOLDING DIE, AND MOLDED PRODUCT
An undercut processing mechanism is attached to and used in a molding die for forming a molded product having an undercut portion, and allows demolding of the undercut portion. The undercut processing mechanism includes: a holder attached to or formed integrally with the molding die; a sliding piece configured to be slidable relative to the holder such that a mold core is moved so as to demold the undercut portion; a retaining piece configured to retain the sliding piece such that the sliding piece is slidable; and a support wall configured to support the sliding piece so as to prevent the sliding piece from being tilted when the sliding piece slides. The sliding piece forms a part of the mold core for forming the undercut portion.
MOLDING MACHINE
A die casting machine includes a plurality of ejector pins capable of advancing and retracting together with respect to the internal portion of a die; an electric motor capable of driving the plurality of ejector pins; a position sensor capable of detecting the positions of the plurality of ejector pins; a force sensor capable of detecting the pressure which is given to the molding material inside the die by the plurality of ejector pins; a display device capable of displaying images, and a control device controlling the electric motor and display device. The control device includes a drive control part which controls the electric motor so as to generate a driving force making the plurality of ejector pins advance to the inside of the die after the start of injection and before die opening, and a display control part which controls the display device so as to display the position detected by a position sensor and the pressure detected by a force sensor along a common time axis.

A metering unit (14) for molten lead is paired with the molding cavity (13) of a molding block (6). The metering unit (14) includes a cylinder (1), to which molten lead is supplied via a blockable line (8), and a piston (2), which can be lifted in order to transfer molten lead into the molding cavity (13) in order to cast pole connectors onto battery plate lugs.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSPECTING HEAT SINK AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HEAT SINK
Provided is a method for inspecting a heat sink that enables an accurate inspection of an insulating film formed on a surface of heat sink fins. The method including a metallic housing that includes a plurality of cooling fins arranged side by side on an outer surface thereof, and an insulating film formed on a surface of the cooling fins and between the cooling fins. The method includes disposing, in an electrolyte solution, an inspection electrode including a plurality of electrode fins insertable between the cooling fins to face the housing with a predetermined distance therebetween in such a way that the cooling fins and the electrode fins are alternately arranged; and applying a voltage between the housing and the inspection electrode, which are arranged to face each other, and inspecting a formation state of the insulating film based on a measured value of a current.
DIE CASTING MACHINE PERMITTING REDUCED CYCLE TIME
A die casting machine includes a stationary die half, an ejector holder block, and die core pieces that extend through the ejector holder block, defining a die cavity when closed. An ejector box backstops the closed ejector holder block and die core pieces. Melt is injected into the die cavity. After a first dwell time, the ejector box is retracted away from the ejector holder block while a closing force is simultaneously applied to maintain the ejector holder block closed on the stationary die half, and the die core pieces are retracted out of the die cavity. After a second dwell time, the melt completely freezes and the ejector block is separated from the stationary die half, opening the die cavity from which the resulting die cast block can be retrieved.
Mold device for forming metal in high-level vacuum environment
A mold device for forming metal in a high-level vacuum environment. The mold device comprises a fixed mold, a movable mold adjoining the upper portion of the fixed mold to form a mold cavity, a closing plate placed closely on top of the movable mold, and an ejector pin extending through the closing plate and the movable mold into the mold cavity. Packing is disposed in a hole in the closing plate through which the ejector pin extends, thereby preventing atmospheric air from entering the mold cavity. There is a blocking space between the movable mold and the packing to prevent heat from being transferred to the packing. An exhaust unit creates a vacuum environment by drawing air from the mold cavity. The metal product is pushed out by the ejector pin.
System and Method of Making a Cast Part
A system and method of making a part. The part may cast in a die. A gripper assembly may be provided that has a gripper and a spray nozzle that provides a fluid. The part may be quenched with a fluid when the part is in the die.
