Undercut processing mechanism, molding die, and molded product

An undercut processing mechanism is attached to and used in a molding die for forming a molded product having an undercut portion, and allows demolding of the undercut portion. The undercut processing mechanism includes: a holder attached to or formed integrally with the molding die; a sliding piece configured to be slidable relative to the holder such that a mold core is moved so as to demold the undercut portion; a retaining piece configured to retain the sliding piece such that the sliding piece is slidable; and a support wall configured to support the sliding piece so as to prevent the sliding piece from being tilted when the sliding piece slides. The sliding piece forms a part of the mold core for forming the undercut portion.

Casting mold

A casting mold includes a cover member covering the inner wall of a bent portion (a first bent portion, etc.) of a passageway. The cover member has a bottomed cylindrical shape having an axis extending in an up-down direction, and includes an upper hole, lateral holes, and at least one flange (a side wall flange). At least one of a fixed mold and a movable mold includes a flange housing groove in a separation surface. When the cover member is disposed in the bent portion and the casting mold is closed, the flange is housed in the flange housing groove, and the cover member is held in a state where a gap is formed between the inner wall of the bent portion and the outer wall of the cover member.

A method for manufacturing a mold element using a manufacturing device comprising a die and a counter-mold defining a molding cavity in the closed position, comprises: opening the manufacturing device; placing at least one insert 22, produced by laser sintering, against a molding surface of the die; mounting at least one wedge 28 on the die so as to bear against said insert in order to immobilize it relative to said molding surface; closing the manufacturing device, the counter-mold pressing onto said wedge in order to keep said insert pressed against said molding surface; injecting aluminium into the molding cavity of the manufacturing device; opening the manufacturing device; and extracting from the manufacturing device the mold element provided with a molding face formed by at least part of said insert and by the aluminum.

DIE-CASTING METHOD USING SINTERED MATERIAL AND A DIE-CAST PRODUCT MANUFACTURED THEREBY

A die-casting method using a sintered material increases bonding strength between an insert and a casting portion. A die-cast product is manufactured using the die-casting method. The die-casting method includes an insert preparation step of preparing an insert having pores formed in a surface thereof by compacting iron-based powder and then sintering the compacted iron-based powder. The pores have a size of 100 μm or more and are distributed over the surface of the insert and the insert has a density of 6.4 to 6.9 g/cm.sup.3 The method includes a die-casting step of placing the prepared insert inside a mold and injecting molten aluminum into the mold so as to perform casting while causing the molten aluminum to infiltrate into the pores formed in the surface of the insert.
