POLYELEMENTAL HETEROSTRUCTURE NANOPARTICLES AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
Disclosed herein are method and design rules for making polyelemental systems with specific heterostructures, including tetra-phase nanopartides with as many as six junctions. In accordance with an embodiment, a method of making a tetra-phase polyelemental nanoparticle using tri-phase nanoparticle architectures can include selecting two or more triphase nanoparticle architectures, wherein the two or more tri-phase nanoparticle architectures are one or more striped tri-phase architectures, one or more pie-shaped tri-phase architectures, or combinations thereof; identifying from the selected two or more tri-phase nanoparticle architectures groups of metals for generating each of the two or more tri-phase nanoparticle architectures; contacting a tip coated with an ink to a substrate to form a nanoreactor, the ink comprising block copolymer and the metals from the groups of metals identified for generating each of the two or more tri-phase nanoparticle architectures; and annealing the nanoreactors under conditions sufficient to synthesize a tetra-phase polyelemental nanoparticle.
Anisotropic particles, methods and uses thereof
The present disclosure, among other things, provides new technologies for preparation of anisotropic nanoparticle cores (e.g., anisotropic gold nanoparticle cores) and compositions thereof. Provided technologies show a number of advantages as compared with previously available options for preparing anisotropic nanoparticle cores, including, for example, that they typically utilize mild reaction conditions and, in many embodiments, only environmentally benign agents. The present invention therefore provides green nanoparticle technologies. Surprisingly, in many cases, the same set of reactants can be used, under modestly different conditions, to generate nanoparticle cores of different shapes. The present invention provides selection rules for reaction conditions that generate populations containing particular shapes of interest.
SILVER POWDER MIXTURE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND CONDUCTIVE PASTE
A silver powder mixture that is suitable for forming a conductive film on a surface of a member having stretchability, a method for producing the same, and a conductive paste using the silver powder mixture is provided. A silver powder mixture containing filamentous silver powder including spherical and filamentous parts and flaky silver powder having an average particle diameter of 1 m or more and 50 m or less and an aspect ratio, which is defined by a ratio of an average long diameter and an average thickness, of 1.5 or more is obtained by adding one kind or two or more kinds of a salt of copper and aluminum and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid to a silver nitrate aqueous solution, for 60 seconds or more, and then adding a reducing agent containing one kind or two or more kinds of Lascorbic acid, erythorbic acid, and salts thereof.
METHODS OF NANOSTRUCTURE FORMATION AND SHAPE SELECTION
Methods for forming nanostructures of various shapes are disclosed. Nanocubes, nanowires, nanopyramids and multiply twinned particles of silver may by formed by combining a solution of silver nitrate in ethylene glycol with a solution of poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) in ethylene glycol. Hollow nanostructures may be formed by reacting a solution of solid nanostructures comprising one of a first metal and a first metal alloy with a metal salt that can be reduced by the first metal or first metal alloy. Nanostructures comprising a core with at least one nanoshell may be formed by plating a nanostructure and reacting the plating with a metal salt.
METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF COPPER NANOCUBES UTILIZING TRIBUTYLPHOSPHINE AS A LIGAND
A method for preparing copper nanocubes with specific facets and uniform size, the method comprising combining a copper complex solution in a reaction mixture with a ligand. Using a ligand of pure, unoxidized tributylphosphine, uniform copper nanocubes with six facets are prepared.

SYNTHETIC METHOD FOR PREPARING SMALL PALLADIUM NANOCUBES
The present disclosure relates to a method for synthesizing Pd nanocubes having an average size less than 10 nm. The reaction temperature, reaction time, and molar ratios of TOP/Pd-OLA can be used to control size and formation of the Pd nanocubes. The present disclosure is also directed to Pd nanocubes, less than 10 nm, having face centered cubic structures. Pd nanocubes of the present disclosure are an effective catalyst for CO2 reduction reaction with excellent selectivity for CO. Small sized Pd nanocubes can be used not only as the seeds to prepare other metal nanocubes, but can also as powerful catalysts for a wide variety of reactions in different industrial processes.
