The invention relates to a method for producing a green compact composite comprising at least a first partial green compact and a second partial green compact, wherein, within one pressing cycle, a powder is introduced into a filling chamber and then separated into a first partial quantity and into a second partial quantity, and, within the same pressing cycle, the respective partial quantities are pressed to form a first partial green compact and a second partial green compact and the partial green compacts are amalgamated after the pressing, wherein the amalgamation forms a press fit between the first partial green compact and the second partial green compact and produces a predetermined breaking point in the green compact composite. Furthermore, the invention proposes a green compact composite, a sintered component and also a press, each of which can be based on the proposed method.

There is provided a method for controlling a powder compacting apparatus including: a die having a hollow; an upper punch and a floating lower punch; a first actuator that pushes down the upper punch; a second actuator that controls a floating load of the floating lower punch; and a stopper that defines a pressurization stop position of the floating lower punch. The powder compacting apparatus is configured such that the first actuator is operated to push down the upper punch to pressurize powder charged into the cavity, and the second actuator is controlled to pressurize the powder such that a load acting on the powder during pressurization becomes a prescribed floating load required to compact the powder. The method includes reducing the floating load in a stepwise manner after completion of the pressurization.

A device for manufacturing a cutting insert green body by compacting a powder includes a first punch, a second punch having a punch edge that has a curvature around the circumference of the punch edge that is at least partially non-perpendicular with a pressing axis of the device, a first die part, and a second die part. When the first and second die parts are joined together when filling the die with powder, one of the first and second die parts is on top of the other and, when the device is in a position ready for filling of powder into the die, the device presents a cavity defined by the lower die part, a punch being introduced into the lower and upper die part. An opening in an upper end surface of the upper die part enables filling of the powder into the cavity.

Method for producing a calibrated combination of parts

A calibrated combination of parts are produced according to a method. The combination of parts includes at least one first part with a first contact surface and a second part with a second contact surface. The parts contact each other via the contact surfaces in the combination of parts. The parts are designed to be free of an undercut at least with respect to an axial direction and can be moved relative to each other along the axial direction and thereby along the contact surfaces in the calibrated combination of parts. The method has at least the following steps: a) providing the parts in the form of green bodies, b) sintering the parts and at least forming bonded connections between the parts; c) arranging the combination of parts in a calibrating tool; d) moving the parts relative to each other; e) arranging the parts in order to form the combination of parts; and f) calibrating the combination of parts.
