BEARING ASSEMBLY FOR A PIPE MACHINING APPARATUS
Pipe machining apparatuses and bearing assemblies are provided. In one aspect, a pipe machining apparatus includes a frame, a tool carrier, a first roller bearing and a second roller bearing. The tool carrier is coupled to and movable relative to the frame and defines a race therein. The first roller bearing includes a first shaft and a first roller rotatably coupled to the first shaft. The first roller is at least partially positioned in the race and is rotatable about a first roller bearing axis adapted to remain substantially fixed relative to the frame. The second roller bearing includes a second shaft and a second roller rotatably coupled to the second shaft. The second roller is at least partially positioned in the race and is rotatable about a second roller bearing axis. The second roller bearing is adjustable to move the second roller bearing axis relative to the frame.

Tubular connection refacing apparatus and methods
An apparatus and method of using an apparatus for refacing a tubular connection is provided. In one example, the apparatus has a mandrel connectable to a threaded portion of a tubular connection and two face plates bearing cutters for refacing surfaces of the tubular connection. In this example, the cutting is controlled by an engaging nut moving along a threaded portion of a drive shaft, and the two face plates may be spaced apart at a fixed distance to maintain the distance between the torque-stop surface and the primary surface after refacing. Also, the apparatus uses a locking pin to assist in tightening or loosening the mandrel into place using the remainder of the apparatus. An air-oil system is provided to supply air and oil to the cutting surfaces as the apparatus refaces the shoulders of the connection. An exemplary pin refacer and an exemplary box refacer are both disclosed.
PIPE END MACHINING DEVICE
A pipe end machining device configured to machine an end of a pipe includes an outer housing having a spindle rotatably mounted therein, tool carriers are mounted on the spindle, a hub assembly attached to the outer housing, a vertical adjustment assembly attached to the hub assembly and to the outer housing, and a drive assembly configured to rotate the spindle and tool carriers. The vertical adjustment assembly adjusts the upward and downward position of the cutting tools relative to the pipe. The hub assembly mounts the device to the pipe and fixes the relative upward or downward position of the cutting tools relative to the pipe, thereby preventing vibration and chatter when the device is cutting a planar surface on the end of the pipe.
