The internal tube assembly can include a stem and an internal body. The stem can be received by the torque mechanism and transmit torque generated from the torque mechanism to the components of the tube shaping tool. The tube shaping tool can roll form the outside diameter of the tube end using standard bearings and a flange bearing attached to the internal body. The flange bearing can also include a flange that can provide facing of the tube end.

Pipe end truing apparatus and method
10556271 · 2020-02-11 ·

A jig and tool are provided for rotating the tool around a pipe or pipeline, for truing the pipe end. An operator can easily installation the jig into the pipe end, with or without the cutting tool installed thereto. The tool can be manually or motor driven for rotation about the jig and the pipe end. The attachment of the tool to the jig enables alignment of the tool's cutting face with the pipe end, with angular and axial adjustment available for obtaining a profile suitable for welding to like pipe ends. In an embodiment, the tool can track the pipe diameter to retain alignment despite out-of-round dimensional variation. The tool is operated and rotated about the pipe end to remove material and, as necessary, the tool is adjusted into the pipe end and the rotation about the pipe end is repeated for incremental removal of material therefrom.

Tube peeling witness groove methods and apparatus

A tube scraping tool comprises: a handle; and a blade, carried by the handle. The tool has first and second laterally spaced apart portions for engaging the tube outer diameter (OD) surface during a drawing of the tool along the tube. The blade has a cutting edge trailing the first and second portions during the drawing and laterally between the first and second portions.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRIMMING A CAN

A cam for use in trimming earing from an open end of an article following at least one forming process. The cam includes a cam profile for actuating a cam follower to which the article is coupled. The cam profile includes a generally sloped rising portion, a generally sloped retracting portion, and a working portion bridging the rising portion and the retracting portion. The working portion includes generally sloped sections separated by at least one recess or dwell.

PIPE EDGE PREPARATION TOOL

A tool for performing work on a workpiece, such as a pipe, includes a mandrel assembly configured to secure to an interior portion of the pipe. The mandrel assembly includes an arm assembly configured to retain a cutting apparatus so as to be positioned at an outside portion of the pipe and to allow the cutting apparatus to revolve around the circumference of the pipe to perform work on the pipe. The mandrel assembly includes a hub and a plurality of jaws that allow it to secure to the interior of the pipe while the arm assembly props the cutting apparatus in a position to facilitate performing work on the pipe around the entire circumference of a section of the pipe. The engagement between the mandrel assembly and the pipe supports the weight of the tool, providing ease of use and improved control for pipe cutting operations.

SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANIPULATING A WORKPIECE

An automated system for manipulating a workpiece includes a machining device, a locating device configured to determine a position of a workpiece, and a positioning system operatively connected to the machining device and being configured to adjust a position of the machining device to align a centerline of the machining device with a longitudinal axis of the workpiece, based upon the determined position of the workpiece. The machining device includes a stabilizing mechanism to engage the workpiece to maintain the workpiece in the determined position, and a cutting element for performing a machining operation on the workpiece.
