Reinforced double-sided cutting insert and cutting tool with reinforced double-sided cutting insert
A double-sided cutting insert includes two end surfaces that each includes major rake surfaces adjacent major cutting edges that form first angles with planes of major side surfaces of the insert, and a central support surface forming a second angle with the planes of the major side surfaces. Each end surface further includes major intermediate surfaces between the major rake surfaces and the central support surface. The major intermediate surfaces form third angles with the planes of the major side surfaces that are greater than the first angles and smaller than the second armies when measured in a central plane that extends along a central axis of the hole and is generally perpendicular to the planes of the major side surfaces and planes of the central support surfaces.
Clamping device and cutting tool
A clamping device is configured to clamp a cutting insert onto a holder of a cutting tool. The clamping device contains a clamping bolt and a locking bolt, wherein the clamping bolt is configured to be inserted into each of the cutting insert and the holder. The locking bolt is configured to be inserted into the holder, such that the locking bolt pre-strains the clamping bolt into clamping the cutting insert onto the holder. The clamping bolt is configured rotatable about a longitudinal clamping axis of the clamping bolt relative to each of the cutting insert and the locking bolt, such that the clamping bolt wedge engages with the locking bolt during a clamping bolt rotation about the longitudinal clamping axis.
CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool with sufficient stiffness of a body is provided.
A cutting tool 10 includes a body 100 in which a discharge groove 120 for guiding and discharging chips is formed, and a cutting insert 200 fastened and fixed on a distal end side of the body 100. The cutting insert 200 includes a first surface 210 through which a through-hole 230 is opened, and a major cutting edge 231 formed so as to extend straight at an end part of the first surface 210. A protrusion portion 130 protruding so as to cover part of the first surface 210 of the cutting insert 200 from outside is formed at the body 100. A clearance hole 170 is formed so as to extend from a surface of the body 100 opposite the cutting insert 200 toward a corner cutting edge 242 when viewed from the distal end side along a central axis AX1.
Tool holder for an indexable cutting insert and cutting tool
A tool holder (12) for an indexable cutting insert (13) is disclosed, comprising a tool holder base body (15), having a receiving pocket (20) for receiving an indexable cutting insert (13) and a fastening pin (17). The fastening pin (17) can assume a mounting position and a clamping position. In the mounting position, the fastening pin (17) can be positioned in a fastening opening (14) of an indexable cutting insert (13). In the clamping position, an indexable cutting insert (13) can be fixed in the receiving pocket (20) by means of the fastening pin (17). The fastening pin (17) is arranged on a fastening slide (16), displaceably arranged in the tool holder base body (15). Furthermore, a cutting tool (10) is disclosed, having a tool holder (12) and an indexable cutting insert (13).
Mounting device for cutting tool, tool body and cutting tool
A cutting insert mounting system adapted for a cutting tool in which, by using a tightening screw, a cutting insert is detachably mounted on an insert mounting seat. A central axis of a screw hole of the insert mounting seat is inclined with respect to a normal direction of a bottom wall surface of the insert mounting seat. When the cutting insert is placed on the insert mounting seat, on a virtual plane defined to expand the bottom wall surface, a central axis of the screw hole is shifted from the central axis of a through hole of the cutting insert to the side of one of two side wall surfaces of the insert mounting seat. On the virtual plane, an axis shift direction of the central axis of the screw hole and an inclination direction of the central axis of the screw hole are different.
CUTTING TOOL COMPRISING A CUTTING TOOL HOLDER AND A CUTTING INSERT THEREFOR
A cutting tool holder (110) configured for mounting thereon a cutting insert (140). The cutting tool holder comprises a body (112) formed with an insert seat (120) configured receiving therein the cutting insert and a seat bore (135) configured for accommodating therein a fastening member (150). The cutting tool holder also comprises an anchoring element (170) received within the body of the holder, the fastening element being configured for secured engagement with the anchoring element and being free of such engagement with the seat bore.
Cutting tool assembly
A cutting tool assembly has a cutter body, a clamp pin, a cutting insert and a set screw. The clamp pin is inserted to the cutter body to secure the cutting insert to an insert pocket. The set screw is fastened to a threaded hole of the cutter body to press the clamp pin toward the insert pocket. A side surface of the cutting insert contacts a side wall of the insert pocket at a first contact portion. A head of the clamp pin contact an inner peripheral surface of a bore of the cutting insert at a second contact portion. The first and second contact portions are located such that a moment acts on the cutting insert toward the base wall of the insert pocket around the first contact portion.
Method and arrangement for manufacturing a cutting insert
A method for manufacturing a cutting insert having a through-hole that extends in a direction that is non-parallel to the main pressing direction. The method includes the steps of moving first and second punches within a die cavity toward each other along a first pressing axis and compacting a powder around a core rod into a cutting insert green body, wherein, during at least a portion of the compaction step, the core rod is turned a predetermined angle in alternating direction around its longitudinal axis.
