CUTTING TOOL HOLDER
A cutting tool holder according to one embodiment supports a cutting insert including a rake face, a flank face, and a cutting edge. The cutting tool holder according to one embodiment includes: a holder body having a seat face on which the cutting insert is placed; a pressing member that positions and fixes the cutting insert to the holder body; and a fixing member that fixes the pressing member to the holder body. The pressing member has: a front end portion close to the cutting edge; and a base end portion distant away from the cutting edge. The front end portion is provided with a first coolant ejection hole. A first flow path is provided inside the holder body. A coolant reservoir and a second flow path are provided inside the pressing member.
Cutting tool and anvil
A metal cutting tool includes a tool holder, a seat in the tool holder defined by side walls and a bottom surface. A replaceable element formed by an insert seating anvil is positioned in the seat and secured by a fastening device. A cutting insert is supported on a base surface of the anvil. The anvil has a projecting element formed integrally with the anvil. The projecting element is rigid and has a dove tail shape in top view, wherein the projecting element base and lower surfaces form coplanar extensions of the base and lower surfaces of the rest of the anvil.
Tool System
Tool system 1 comprising a tool holder 2 that has an insert seat 17 for receiving a cutting insert 6, and comprising a clamping element 4 that has an opening 26 for receiving a clamping means 15, an interface 30 being arranged between the tool holder 2 and the clamping element 4, and channels for the purpose of cooling by means of a fluid being arranged in the tool holder 2 and the clamping element 4, and a sealing means 31 being arranged in the region of the interface 30.
Cutting tool
A cutting tool for turning and/or boring operations can include a holder, a replaceable insert supported by the holder in a cutting position, and a clamp releasably coupled to the holder and configured to bear against the insert to retain the insert in the cutting position. The clamp can be releasably coupled to the holder without a threaded fastener. The cutting tool can include a retention mechanism for releasably connecting the holder and the clamp, the retention mechanism having alternate locked and unlocked states.
Tool body, insert support mechanism and cutting tool
A cutting tool has an insert receiving pocket provided with a base surface. The base surface has a screw hole, and second and third engagement surfaces which are brought into contact with a first engagement surface formed in the lower surface of the cutting insert, thereby suppressing shifting of the cutting insert during cutting. The base surface is divided into four areas by a first boundary which passes through the screw hole's center point, and a second boundary is perpendicular to the first boundary and also passing though the center point. The second engagement part is formed on the outer side surface side relative to the first boundary and on the base end side relative to the second boundary, and the third engagement part is formed on the outer side surface side relative to the first boundary and on the leading end surface side relative to the second boundary.
Clamp for tool holder
A clamp for a tool holder is disclosed. The clamping tool holder includes a body having an insert-receiving pocket and a threaded clamp-receiving bore with a coolant opening for receiving pressurized coolant from a coolant source. A clamp includes a threaded aperture extending from a top surface to a bottom surface and coolant passages in fluid communication with a coolant header. A clamp screw is threaded into the threaded aperture of the clamp. The clamp screw includes a plurality of coolant passages in fluid communication with the coolant opening of the body, and at least one coolant channel in fluid communication with the coolant passage. Coolant from the coolant source enters the coolant opening of the body, travels into the clamp screw, travels into each coolant passage of the clamp, and then exits the clamp in a direction toward a cutting insert-workpiece interface.
METAL CUTTING TURNING TOOL
A turning tool includes a turning insert and a tool body. The turning insert has opposite facing top and bottom surfaces connected by a circumferential side surface. The turning tool has a pocket arranged for receiving the turning insert. The pocket includes a bottom support surface and first and second pocket side surfaces, the first and second pocket side surfaces forming an acute angle. The first pocket side surface includes first and second side support surfaces and the second pocket side surface includes third and fourth side support surfaces. The first recess is formed between the first and second side support surfaces and the second recess is formed between the third and fourth side support surfaces. Each recess forms a gap between the circumferential side surface and the respective pocket side surfaces.
Toolholder with clamp having fluid flow passages, and tool including such a toolholder
A tool having a toolholder and a cutting insert disposed in the pocket of the toolholder. The cutting insert includes a hole having a cutting insert clamping surface that is contacted by the clamp clamping surface. The clamp clamping surface and the cutting insert clamping surface are formed, such that as a clamp bottom surface is moved toward a bottom surface of the pocket, when a post is in a post hole and a fastener is in a clamp hole and a toolholder hole, the cutting insert is urged against the bottom surface and a rear wall. A tool holder is also disclosed.
