20230271099 · 2023-08-31 ·

Water reveal objects and methods of making and using same are described. In some embodiments, the objects are three-dimensional objects (e.g., animals, figurines or toy models) that are assembled by the user from a variety of pieces. The pieces may be comprised of multiple layers, such as a base layer, a film that includes one or more designs covering the base layer and a water-reactive coating that hides the one or more designs when the coating is dry and reveals the one or more designs when the user brushes water on the coating. The coating and film may be on one or multiple sides of the pieces. The pieces may be provided to the user in a sheet that is partially precut to facilitate removal of the pieces. In other embodiments, the present disclosure provides a sheet or roll of stickers.

Screenless smart learning toy and system

A screenless smart toy device may be a block made of natural or wooden material and may include a transparent or semi-transparent panel allowing one or more LEDs, from within the smart toy device, to be visible when illuminated. The smart toy device may read RFID values from various objects, such as tiles having objects depicted thereupon and RFID tags embedded within, and play different sounds and/or illuminate its LEDs with different colors based on the RFID tag that was read. The smart toy device may operate in a variety of modes, such as in a play/explore mode, quiz mode, definition mode, etc. The smart toy device may be configured into different modes and/or language settings by use of a mode card or separate application.

HEAD-MOUNTED DISPLAY FOR NAVIGATING VIRTUAL AND AUGMENTED REALITY
20220146841 · 2022-05-12 ·

Locomotion-based motion sickness has long been a complaint amongst virtual reality gamers and drone pilots. Traditional head-mounted display experiences require a handheld controller (e.g. thumbstick, touchpad, gamepad, keyboard, etc.) for locomotion. Teleportation compromises immersive presence and smooth navigation leads to sensory imbalances that can cause dizziness and nausea (even when using room-scale sensor systems). Designers have therefore had to choose between comfort and immersion. The invention is a hands-free, body-based navigation technology that puts the participant's body in direct control of movement through virtual space. Participants lean forward to advance in space; lean back to reverse; tip left or right to strafe/sidestep; and rotate to look around. In some embodiments, the more a participant leans, the faster they go. Because the interactions were designed to respond to natural bearing and balancing instincts, movement coordination is intuitive and vection-based cybersickness is reduced.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTERACTIVE DRONE EXPERIENCE

An entertainment system includes a drone configured to be maneuvered across a plurality of zones, an interactive toy device configured to be actuated to cause a plurality of toy reactions, one or more processors, and one or more non-transitory, computer readable media having instructions stored thereon. The instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to determine a correlation between the drone and the interactive toy device, where the correlation is based on a proximity between the drone and the interactive toy device and at least one of: a location of the drone within a zone of the plurality of zones, an additional location of the interactive toy device within the zone or an additional zone of the plurality of zones, a non-position based physical attribute of the drone, or an additional non-position based physical attribute of the interactive toy device. The instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to activate, based on the correlation, a toy reaction of the plurality of toy reactions.

A toy figurine and/or toy figurine packaging is coated with a dissolvable layer. When the toy figurine is coated, the toy figurine is entirely coated so that its overall appearance, including its skin complexion and/or facial features, is substantially hidden or obscured. Then, when the figurine is submerged in a fluid, the dissolvable layer dissolves to reveal the figurine's appearance that had been hidden underneath the dissolvable layer. When the toy figurine packaging is coated, the toy figurine packaging hides the identity of a toy figurine enclosed therein until fluid is introduced to the packaging.
