Auger bit with carbide tip
An auger bit for cutting holes. The auger bit includes a body made of a first material. The body has a first end, a second end configured to be coupled to a power tool, a flute, and a longitudinal axis extending centrally through the body. The auger bit also includes a cutting tip made of a second material different from the first material. The cutting tip is coupled to the first end of the body. The cutting tip includes a first shoulder having a first spur, a first main cutting edge, and a first side cutting edge. The cutting tip also includes a second shoulder opposite the first shoulder and having a second spur, a second main cutting edge, and a second side cutting edge. The cutting tip further includes a center spur positioned between the first shoulder and the second shoulder and on the longitudinal axis.
Method and apparatus for limiting equipment burden when penetrating a mixed or composite material structure including metal utilizing a hammer-drill
A method employing an apparatus in conjunction with a hammer-drill to penetrate composite metal and non-metal structure or structures including, for example, thick metal or rebar encountered during concrete, rock or masonry boring operations without requiring a change in drill equipment.

MACHINING SYSTEM AND CUTTING INSERT AND METHODS
There is provided a machining assembly and cutting insert for machining metal or like workpieces, wherein the cutting insert body has a cutting end. The cutting end comprises at least one cutting edge and at least one cutting lip formed adjacent the at least one cutting edge. The at least one cutting lip includes at least one cutting protrusion and associated chip cutting edge to split the chip formed by the at least one cutting edge, for producing chips during machining which are of a width that is sufficiently reduced to allow proper evacuation or removal.
CUTTING PLATE AND METHOD AND COMPRESSION MOLD FOR PRODUCING A GREEN BODY OF THE CUTTING PLATE
A compression tool, a cutting plate and a method of producing a cutting plate by multiaxial pressing a powder mixture of a hard metal component and a binder to form a green body is provided. After pressing, the body has two parallel main surfaces and a peripheral edge surface extending between and connecting the main surfaces. The main surfaces include depressions, such that cutting edges are formed at the intersection of the bottom of the depressions and at least a part of the edge surface. A heading tool includes a main punch and an independently moveable form punch. In a first pressing step, the form punch is moved towards the powder mixture to form a preliminarily compressed portion. In a second step, the main punch and the form punch are both moved towards a final position to provide the green body with its final dimensions including the depressions
FIXTURE FOR PVD COATING OF SPADE BITS
A fixture assembly for supporting a workpiece having opposing side walls defining a notch. The fixture assembly includes a base and a first member extending from a surface of the base. The first member has an outward facing surface. A second member extends from the surface of the base. The first member is parallel to the first member and has an outward facing surface. At least one adjusting assembly is configured for moving at least one of the first member and the second member to adjust a distance between the outward facing surfaces of the first member and the second member wherein moving at least one of the first member and the second member increases the distance between the outward facing surfaces of the first and second members and causes the outward facing surfaces to engage the opposing side walls to clamp the workpiece to the first and second members.
DRILLING SYSTEM AND DRILL INSERT AND METHODS FOR HOLE DRILLING
There is provided a drilling assembly and drill insert for producing holes in metal workpieces, wherein the drill insert body has a cutting end. The cutting end comprises at least two cutting lips formed transverse to each other. A web is formed between the two cutting lips, and each of the two cutting lips includes a cutting edge segment and at least one chip breaker. The chip breaker comprises at least one step in the cutting lip to produce a radial discontinuity in the cutting edge segment of the cutting lip for producing chips during machining which are of a width that is sufficiently reduced to allow proper evacuation from the hole produced thereby.
Drill bit
A drill bit configured for use with a rotary power tool including a chuck. The drill bit includes a shank including a first end and a second end, and a paddle that extends from the second end of the shank. The paddle includes a first face including a concave portion, a second face opposite the first face and the second face including a convex portion opposite the concave portion, a cutting surface, a cutting edge located at an end of the cutting surface, a relief angle defined by the cutting surface, and an angled rake face adjacent the cutting surface that defines a rake angle that is between about 5 degrees and about 45 degrees.
Ejector drill system
A drilling head for a tubular shank having an inside diameter and threads may comprise an axial body comprising a duct exiting through a first end; threads adjacent the first end corresponding to the threads on the shank and aligning the duct with the shank inside diameter; a bore from an outer surface of the body to the duct; and two axially extending approximately parallel and offset surfaces adjacent a second end; and an insert affixed between the offset surfaces, the insert comprising: a first face at least partially contacting one offset surface and a second face at least partially contacting the other offset surface; one or more cutting edges adjacent the first face, the second face, or both; and a cutting lip adjacent one or more cutting edges.
