DRILL WITH IMPROVED CHIP EVACUATION
A drill includes a front and rear end, a shaft extending axially rearwardly from the front end, at least one cutting insert releasably mounted at the front end, a first and second chip flute in an envelope surface of the shaft, a coolant chamber inside a shank, and a first and second coolant channel extending from the front end of the coolant chamber and terminating at the drill front end. The first coolant channel is associated with the first chip flute and the second coolant channel is associated with the second chip flute. The coolant chamber includes a flow control element movable in response to a flow restriction between a neutral position, in which coolant flow is distributed substantially equally to the first and second coolant channels, and an active position, in which the flow control element directs the coolant flow at least mainly to one of the coolant channels.
Multi-part modular tool
A multi-part modular tool rotatable about a longitudinal tool axis (A), comprising: a machining head; a first holding element comprising a body elongated along the longitudinal axis (A) of the tool, in which a passage extends along the longitudinal axis (A) of the tool; a second holding element which can extend in the passage of the first holding element; wherein the machining head can be connected to the second holding element in such a way that the machining head is fixed firmly to the first holding element at least in the axial direction (A) and/or in the radial direction (R), and wherein the passage of the first holding element and the second holding element are adapted to one another such that during a connection process in which the machining head is connected to the second holding element, the second holding element is movable relative to the first holding element.
Rotary cutting tool and holding element for a rotary cutting tool
The described rotary cutting tool comprises a tool body extending along a rotational axis and a cutting insert comprising at least one cutting edge. The tool body is mounted in a mounting pocket delimited by two clamping fingers. A clamping finger bore is provided on each of the clamping fingers. The cutting insert also has a through bore. A holding element is arranged in the clamping finger bores and in the through bore to couple the cutting insert to the tool body. A section of the holding element located within the through bore is crowned. A holding element for such a rotary cutting tool is also presented.
MODULAR CUTTING TOOL
What is provided is a modular cutting tool (1; 40) with a base body (2) extending along a tool axis and a tool head (3) connected via a positive coupling to the base body (2), wherein the positive coupling is formed from front toothings (4), which are engaged with one another, on the base body (2) and tool head (3), which each have a plurality of radially running teeth (5), which are distributed equidistantly around the tool axis. For each front toothing (4) the tip surfaces (7) of the teeth (5) lie on a virtual inner conical surface in the tool head (3) or base body (2) with the tool axis as cone axis, and the tip surfaces (7) of the teeth (5) are rounded concavely.
