ROTARY TOOL WITH IMPROVED COUPLING ASSEMBLY
A surgical device comprising: a handle assembly; a locking collar; and a set of replaceable bits that load along an axis into the handle assembly; wherein the locking collar is fully removable from the handle assembly, the locking collar loads axially to a first position, and the locking collar rotates between the first position and a second position; wherein, in the first position, the locking collar is free to be axially removed from the handle assembly and the replaceable bits are free to be loaded or unloaded from the handle assembly; wherein, in the second position, the locking collar is prevented from axial movement relative to the handle assembly and the replaceable bits are prevented from being received within, or removed from, the handle assembly; and the locking collar is guided to the first position and between the first position and the second position by a groove in the handle assembly mating with a member carried by the locking collar. And a surgical device comprising: a handle assembly comprising a rotatable drive shaft; a removable handle assembly adapter for connection to the handle assembly, the removable handle assembly adapter comprising a rotatable transmission shaft for connection to the rotatable drive shaft of the handle assembly; and a removable nosepiece assembly for connection to the removable handle assembly adapter and for selectively securing the shaft of a working element to the rotatable transmission shaft of the removable handle assembly adapter; wherein the removable handle assembly adapter and the removable nosepiece assembly each comprise a locking collar; and wherein the removable handle assembly adapter and the handle assembly each comprise a connector assembly, the connector assembly comprising: a housing comprising an opening; a collet sleeve disposed within the opening and connected to an input shaft, the collet sleeve comprising a lumen for receiving an output shaft; a locking element movable relative to the collet sleeve between (i) a locked position in which the output shaft is secured to the collet sleeve, and (ii) an unlocked position in which the output shaft is not secured to the collet sleeve; and a cam element movable relative to the collet sleeve between (i) a first position in which the locking element is free to assume its unlocked position, and (ii) a second position in which the cam element cams the locking element into the locked position; such that movement of the locking collar causes the cam element to move between the first position and the second position.
DRILLING SYSTEM FOR DEEP HOLES
The invention is directed to a drill system that better uses the power curve of modern machine tools. The drill system uses IC inserts to perform the major hole diameter cutting, and a central drilling system that cuts the remaining minor diameter portion of the hole, and is configured to see less cutting surface footage, due to its position from the rotating center of the tool. A connection between the drill head and a holder body secures the drill head in a manner to effectively absorb lateral drilling forces. The drill system allows for a large diameter deep hole that remains straight throughout to be drilled at higher speed and lighter feed rates thus offering a more productive tool that takes advantage of the power curves and lower thrust capabilities of modern machine tools.
Quick coupling system for fastening an interchangeable head on a press tool
Provided in a quick coupling system for fastening an interchangeable head to a pressing tool is a securing arrangement. The pressing tool has a press ram, which is movable in an axial direction, for actuating a pressing device in the interchangeable head. The quick coupling system has no thread and has either a bayonet closure or a securing arrangement having radially displaceable securing elements.
Quick-removal socket tool
A quick removal socket tool includes: a rod body that has a surrounding wall defining a recess for receiving a screwdriver head and formed with a retaining hole in spatial communication with the recess; and a sliding sleeve sleeved movably on the rod body, formed with an annular groove, and being movable relative to the rod body between a retaining position, where the annular groove is misaligned from the retaining hole so that the positioning ball is disposed within the retaining hole and a groove of the screwdriver head to retain the screwdriver head within the recess, and a release position, where the annular groove is aligned with the retaining hole so that the positioning ball is disposed within the retaining hole and the annular groove to allow for removal of the screwdriver head from the recess.
Chuck tool and bits
A tool arrangement and chuck apparatus for quick change of a range of tools; particularly, a quick change chuck adapted to engage various diameter drill bits, tools and tool holders. The tools are rotatable in a chuck or adaptor and have at one end a centering shaft portion having a constant diameter for multiple tool end diameters and shapes, a drive shoulder portion and a lock portion. The chucks have a tool centering arrangement for accommodating the constant diameter centering shaft. The chucks are also described as having tool bit release mechanism operable to disengage the tool from a retention mechanism when a force is applied inwards of the body of the chuck by the user to allow the tool bit to be removed longitudinally from the chuck but also arrange to allow the tool bit to be inserted longitudinally into the chuck without requiring any other user operation.
Cutting tool, module, cutting tool unit, and cutting system
A cutting tool includes a shaft portion. The shaft portion includes an increased-diameter portion having a diameter larger than a diameter of other portion of the shaft portion. The increased-diameter portion has a recessed portion formed in a peripheral surface of the increased-diameter portion.
Cutting Tool With Flat Sided Groove For Non Rotation
A cutting tool includes a cutting bit having a cutting element and a cylindrical shank located below said cutting element and wherein said cylindrical shank has a clip groove having at least one surface that is at least one flat side, at least one convex surface, or at least one concave surface. The surface of the clip groove of the cylindrical shank biases against at least one of an internal radial tab of a retainer sleeve to inhibit axial movement and to inhibit rotation of the cylindrical shank of the cutting tool.
STRESS-REDUCING, TORQUE TRANSMISSION DESIGN FOR MODULAR DRILLS
A cutting insert for a modular rotary cutting tool is disclosed. The cutting insert may include a shaft, opposing insert centering surfaces, and convex torque transmission insert drive surfaces.
