Toy with light emitting diode
A toy has one or more LED light sources positioned on the toy so the light source illuminates beyond the toy. A toy to be worn on the human finger comprises a body includes an anchoring portion for receiving or locating a finger or fingers. A finger puppet toy permits for at least one of a reading tool and a light source or an enhancement of other toys or writings. A LED or other light source is operated on the toy to interact with photo-luminescent ink and other inks. A photo-luminescent ink and other inks are pre-printed or included in a decoration on the surface of another item such as a book or other toy. The toy is a reading tool or a light source or an enhancement of other toys or writings. The LED light sources include a black light and may include other LED lights of other colors. The lights are connected to a circuit board and an integrated power source, which are connected to a switch encased on the toy. The mechanism, number and location of LED lights, the circuit board, wiring, power source and switch are further defined based on the shape of the character of the toy.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A PHOSPHORESCENT LIQUID WRITING SURFACE
A phosphorescence and liquid toy comprising a pad having a first substrate and a second substrate wherein a first coating is applied to the first substrate. A second coating applied to the first coating and the first substrate wherein the second substrate is attached to the back side of the first substrate. The first coating having a liquid reactive material and the second coating having a phosphorescent reactive material. A pen having a cylindrical tube terminating in a tip on one end and opening on the other end creating a refillable reservoir wherein the reservoir is filled with liquid and a cap is removably attached to the opening.
Dynamic interactive media for a playset
A playset comprises a plurality of hotspots positioned within a plurality of scenes. A switching mechanism is configured to selectively couple to the each of the plurality of hotspots and is communicatively coupled with a controller. The controller is configured to establish communication with a first object using a first hotspot and determine an object type of the first object and a location of the first object within the playset. The location of the first object corresponds to a scene that contains the first hotspot. The controller is further configured to select an interactive media based on the object type and the location of the first object, select a first media file based on the selected interactive media, and instruct the first media file to be output on an output device.
Book
A book (1) is described. The book has front and back covers (2, 3) and a plurality of pages (5) bound between the covers. The book includes capacitive touch elements (9) disposed on the inside (10, 14) of the back cover and/or the front cover. The book also includes at least one output device (7), such as a speaker, and a controller (18). The controller is configured to cause the or at least one of the output devices to output a signal in dependence upon position of a user's digit (31: FIG. 6) on a page overlying the cover.

System and method for changing content based on user reaction
Provided is an information processing apparatus including a processing unit that presents content to a user on a basis of sensor information acquired by a sensor that detects reaction of the user to a stimulus given to the user.
ALGORITHMIC DETERMINATION OF A STORY READERS DISCONTINUATION OF READING
The disclosure provides technology for enhancing the ability of a computing device to detect when a user has discontinued reading a text source. An example method includes receiving audio data comprising a spoken word associated with a text source, wherein the audio data comprises a first duration and a second duration; comparing the audio data with data of the text source, wherein the first duration of the audio data corresponds with the data of the text source; calculating, by a processing device, a correspondence measure between the second duration of the audio data and the data of the text source; and responsive to determining the correspondence measure satisfies a threshold, transmitting a signal to cease comparing audio data with the data of the text source.
BOOK AND TOY COMBINATION
The present invention relates to a book comprising a first outer cover having a substantially planar body defining a first aperture extending therethrough; a second outer cover having a substantially planar body defining a second aperture extending therethrough; and at least one inner element located between the first and second outer covers, the or each inner element having a substantially planar body defining an inner element aperture extending therethrough; wherein at least a portion of the first and second apertures and the or each inner element aperture are aligned with one another to define a receiving aperture extending through the book.

The controller is further configured to select an interactive media based on the object type and the location of the first object, select a first media file based on the selected interactive media, and instruct the first media file to be output on an output device.
BOOK CHARACTER DEVICE STRUCTURE
A book device structure for any and all book devices wherein one or more first attachments are operatively connected to either the front cover, back cover, or one or more internal pages, such that the attachments are functional and may be engaged with by a user of the device. The first attachments resemble a human or nonhuman leg or arm, such that the collective book device structure takes the form of a human or nonhuman character, figure, or individual. When applied to a written, printed, fillable, or blank literary or graphic work, whether published or not, the addition of one or more of these functional attachments to the book device produces unique functionality and a structure that resembles what is referred to as a “Book Character” device structure.
