TOOL BODY, INSERT SUPPORT MECHANISM AND CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool has an insert receiving pocket provided with a base surface. The base surface has a screw hole, and second and third engagement surfaces which are brought into contact with a first engagement surface formed in the lower surface of the cutting insert, thereby suppressing shifting of the cutting insert during cutting. The base surface is divided into four areas by a first boundary which passes through the screw hole's center point, and a second boundary is perpendicular to the first boundary and also passing though the center point. The second engagement part is formed on the outer side surface side relative to the first boundary and on the base end side relative to the second boundary, and the third engagement part is formed on the outer side surface side relative to the first boundary and on the leading end surface side relative to the second boundary.

MILLING INSERT AND A MILLING TOOL
A milling insert suitable for shoulder milling includes a side surface extending between an upper and lower side and a cutting edge having a primary and a secondary cutting edge portion. The side surface includes an axial support surface opposite of the secondary cutting edge portion. The lower side includes a locking groove extending longitudinally, and a lower contact region formed to bear on a fastening member. The upper side has an upper contact region arranged to bear on a top support member of a tool in which the milling insert is mountable. A milling tool is provided with a top support member for bearing on the upper contact region of the milling insert, a locking ridge for locking with the locking groove, and an axial contact surface for supporting the axial support surface. A fastening member presses the milling insert against the top support member and the locking ridge.

Cutting insert and indexable cutting tool
A cutting insert includes: two opposite end surfaces; a peripheral side surface extending between the end surfaces; and plural cutting edge sections that are formed along an intersecting ridgeline portion between the peripheral side surface and each of the end surfaces. Each of the cutting edge sections includes a corner cutting edge, a major cutting edge, and a minor cutting edge. A non-cutting intersecting ridgeline area extending between adjacent cutting edge sections on one end surface is located adjacent, via the peripheral side surface, to at least a part of the corner cutting edge and the major cutting edge of an associating cutting edge section on the other end surface.
INDEXABLE TANGENTIAL RAILWAY WHEEL MILLING INSERTS AND CUTTING TOOL HOLDERS
Railway wheel milling tool system including a railway wheel truing cutters and tangential railway wheel milling inserts are disclosed. The tangential milling inserts have at least four indexable cutting edges, each with a central wiper cutting edge segment between two convex cutting edge segments. The milling inserts may allow both the flat portion and curved portion of a railway wheel to be machined with an improved surface finish. The railway wheel truing cutters comprise a plurality of insert pockets structured and arranged to receive the tangential railway wheel milling inserts.

Cutting tool insert and cutting tool insert holder
A cutting tool insert includes eight identical cutting edges. Each separate cutting edge has a first cutting edge portion and a second cutting edge portion. A corner angle between the first cutting edge portion and the second cutting edge portion is within a range of 75 to <90 degrees. The first cutting edge portion and the second cutting edge portion have substantially the same length to provide a substantially equal cutting depth. As seen along the center axis of the insert a first angle within a range of 14+/−9 degrees is formed between a first imaginary line extending from the center axis to a corner point at the first side surface and a second imaginary line extending from the center axis to an adjacent corner point at the second side surface. A cutting tool insert holder is also disclosed.
Cutting tool and undersized bore-less indexable insert therefor
An undersized indexable cutting insert being devoid of a through bore and has exactly three main cutting edges. The cutting insert has an inscribed circle which tangentially contacts only and all main cutting edges, and has an inscribed circle diameter of under 3.8 millimeters.
MACHINING TOOL
A tool for machining has a main body, a seat formed on the main body, a fastening screw, and a cutting insert. The seat has a base surface for supporting an underside of the cutting insert and a lateral bearing surface. A bore for receiving the fastening screw is formed in the base surface, the bore has a threaded bore portion and, closer toward the base surface, a thread-free bore portion. The cutting insert is fastened to the seat such that the head portion of the fastening screw is supported on the through-hole in the cutting insert. The threaded portion of the fastening screw engages with the threaded bore and the fastening screw is elastically deflected such that a thread-free shank portion bears against the thread-free bore portion on a side remote from the lateral bearing surface and is spaced apart from the thread-free bore portion.
