In a cutting insert according to an embodiment of the present invention, an upper cutting edge includes, sequentially from a first corner to a second corner, a corner cutting edge, a minor cutting edge inclined as separating from the corner cutting edge at a first inclination angle on a basis of a vertical plane perpendicular to a central axis extending between upper and lower surfaces, and a major cutting edge inclined as separating from the minor cutting edge at a second inclination angle on the basis of the vertical plane so as to become more closer to the lower surface than the minor cutting edge. A cross section of a rake surface obtained by cutting an inwardly located end portion thereof along a direction of the central axis has a straight line shape or concave shape in a region crossing over at least a minor rake surface and a major rake surface. A cutting tool with the cutting insert, and a method of manufacturing a machined product by using the cutting tool are also provided.

The technical objective of the present invention is to provide a cutting insert that has an improved fastening property with a cutting tool, thereby preventing reduction of the service life. A cutting insert according to the present disclosure includes a first surface, a second surface, a side surface, and a cutting edge. The first surface has a rake face continuous to the cutting edge. The cutting edge has a corner cutting edge, a flat cutting edge, and a main cutting edge. The rake face has a first rake face portion, a second rake face portion, and a third rake face portion, the first rake face portion being continuous to the flat cutting edge, the second rake face portion being continuous to the main cutting edge, the third rake face portion being continuous to the corner cutting edge and being located between the first rake face portion and the second rake face portion. The rake face is provided with a level difference portion.

Cutting Insert

A cutting edge has a corner cutting edge, a flat drag, and a main cutting edge. The rake surface has a first rake surface portion, a second rake surface portion, and a third rake surface portion. The first rake surface portion has a first inclined surface inclined at a first angle. The second rake surface portion has a second inclined surface inclined at a second angle greater than the first angle. The first end portion and the second end portion are higher than the reference surface in a direction perpendicular to the reference surface, and the main cutting edge extends so as to intersect the reference surface when viewed in a direction parallel to the reference surface. Tool body and cutting tool

The present invention relates to a tool body provided with at least one insert seat. The insert seat includes a bottom wall surface and a side wall surface. The side wall surface includes a first side wall surface and a second side wall surface. The first side wall surface includes at least two surface portions. The first surface portion is a curved surface having a recessed shape recessed toward a base end of the tool body, and the second surface portion is a curved surface having a recessed shape recessed toward the base end of the tool body, with a greater curvature radius than that of the first surface portion, or a flat surface. The two surface portions both come into contact with a cutting insert.
