BALL NOSE AND MILL INSERT, A BALL NOSE END MILL TOOL BODY AND A BALL NOSE END MILL
A ball nose end mill insert includes an insert body having an axial center axis, two opposed substantially flat insert side surfaces, and a peripheral surface joining the two insert side surfaces. The peripheral surface includes two arcuate surfaces at a first axially forward end of the insert and an insert support surface at a second axially rearward end of the insert. The arcuate surfaces extend axially rearward from an axial center area of the first axially forward end and are positioned symmetrically on opposite sides in relation to the axial center area. Peripheral side surfaces adjoin the arcuate surfaces. An insert through hole intersects the insert side surfaces. The insert support surface has an axial insert support surface having surface portions on opposite sides of the axial center axis and a radial insert support surface. The axial and the radial insert support surfaces together form an acute angle.

The cutting insert includes an upper surface, a lower surface and a peripheral side surface. The cutting insert further includes an inner cutting edge and a corner cutting edge. A top part, which has the maximum distance from the lower surface, is located on the corner cutting edge.
Milling insert and a milling tool
A milling insert for shoulder milling having s a positive basic shape and includes an upper side having a rake surface, a lower side including a planar bottom surface, a side surface extending around the periphery of the milling insert, and a cutting edge formed between the side surface and the rake surface. The cutting edge has at least a major cutting edge portion, a corner radius cutting edge portion, a ramping cutting edge portion, and a surface wiping cutting edge portion. The side surface includes an upper set of primary clearance surfaces and a lower set of secondary clearance surfaces having a plurality of planar secondary clearance surfaces, wherein the upper set of primary clearance surfaces forms an overhang protruding with respect to the secondary clearance surfaces and extending around the entire upper periphery of the milling insert.
Cutting insert and a cutting tool for milling square shoulders
A cutting insert for milling square shoulders has side surfaces each provided with a major cutting edge connected to an associated wiper edge on an adjacent side surface of the insert. The side surface provided with the major cutting edge has two generally flat and non-coplanar support surfaces arranged consecutively with respect to a direction of the extension of the major cutting edge and make different angles with a normal to a bottom surface of the insert. A border forming a limit of the support surfaces most distant to the bottom surface is inclined with respect to the bottom surface so that the distance of this border to the bottom surface increases in a direction of extension of the cutting edge towards the wiper edge.
CUTTING INSERT
The cutting edge has: a corner cutting edge; a flat cutting edge continuous to a first end portion of the corner cutting edge; and a main cutting edge continuous to a second end portion of the corner cutting edge opposite to the first end portion of the corner cutting edge. The rake face has: a first rising surface portion; and a first rake face portion continuous to the first rising surface portion and located opposite to the corner cutting edge when viewed from the first rising surface portion. When viewed in a direction perpendicular to the reference surface, the first boundary includes a first line segment extending, from one of the flat cutting edge and the corner cutting edge, in a direction crossing a straight line extending along the main cutting edge.
CUTTING INSERT AND INDEXABLE ROTATING TOOL
The present invention provides a cutting insert 10 which is mounted on an indexable rotating tool E comprising a body B that rotates about a predetermined rotational axis AX. The cutting insert 10 comprises an upper surface 10a, a lower surface 10b and a peripheral side surface. The cutting insert 10 further comprises an inner cutting edge 10g and a corner cutting edge 10f. A top part S, which has the maximum distance from the lower surface 10b, is located on the corner cutting edge 10f.
Cutting insert, cutting tool, and method of manufacturing a machined product
A cutting insert according to an embodiment of the present invention has a cutting edge having a first corner cutting edge, a flat cutting edge, a connecting edge, a major cutting edge, and a second corner cutting edge in the order named. The major cutting edge has an upwardly protruding curvilinear portion, a first straight line portion extending from the curvilinear portion toward the connecting edge, and a second straight line portion extending from the curvilinear portion toward the second corner cutting edge. The flat cutting edge and the major cutting edge have a straight line shape, and the connecting edge has an outwardly protruding curvilinear shape in a top view. The flat cutting edge, the connecting edge, and the first straight line portion are located on a straight line in a side view.
Ramping insert having non-positive cutting geometry and ramping tool
A double-sided, indexable, non-positive ramping insert has a 180-degree rotational symmetry about each of the first, second and third axes of a three-dimensional Euclidean space. The ramping insert includes two first surfaces and an insert peripheral surface which extends therebetween. The ramping insert includes four cutting portions, each includes a major cutting edge, a wiper edge connected transversely thereto via a corner cutting edge and a ramping edge which extends transversely from the wiper edge in a view parallel to the first axis. Each peripheral surface includes four non-positive ramping relief surfaces, each of which extends from a respective ramping edge towards, and not beyond, a first median plane which is defined by the second and third axes.
Double-sided milling cutting insert and milling tool
A double-sided milling cutting insert has a first cutting edge disposed at an intersection of a top side and a side surface and a second cutting edge disposed at an intersection of a bottom side and the side surface. Each of the first and second cutting edges contains three cutting edge portions which are useable by indexing.
