The centerpiece is configured for attachment to the table. Each of a pair of extensions comprises a support and a plate. The support is reversibly couplable to a respective opposing end of the centerpiece. The plate extends perpendicularly from a front of the support adjacent to a bottom of the support. The supports are positioned to couple to the centerpiece such that the plates are positioned coplanarly with an upper face of the table. The plates are configured to place a piece of wood for cutting with a blade of the miter saw.

A circular saw blade is operatively connected to the drive motor and drivable in rotation by the drive motor about an axis of rotation of the circular saw blade. The circular saw blade is adjustable from a ready position into a working position. The ready position is selected as a function of a position of the adjustable frame part such that the circular saw blade carries out a minimized angular travel as working travel during sawing. The adjustable frame part is adjustable at least in a vertical direction and/or in a horizontal direction transverse to the axis of rotation of the circular saw blade as a function of a cross-section of a workpiece to be sawed.

During a cutting operation, the locking assembly remains coupled with the cutting assembly while the cutting blade moves downwardly for preventing sliding movement of the cutting assembly.

The device includes a clamping block having at least one slot, and a pivot lever on which the machine tool can be mounted and which is pivotable about a pivot point relative to the clamping block between a minimum and a maximum miter angle. The slot includes at least two stop elements offset relative to one another. A setting mechanism includes a lever element for the selection of a maximum miter angle, where the lever element includes a mating stop element is alignable in such a way corresponding to the rotational alignment of the lever element that the mating stop element is able to strike the respective stop element in accordance with the selected maximum miter angle and by which the pivoting movement of the pivot lever relative to the clamping block can be limited.
