A reciprocating saw may include a housing, a motor within the housing, a reciprocating drive mechanism having a rotational input driven by the motor and a reciprocating spindle to which a saw blade is attachable, and an onboard, integrated dust collection system for collecting and storing dust and debris generated by the saw blade during a cutting operation. The dust collection system includes an inlet duct, a dust container positioned downstream of the inlet duct, an outlet duct positioned downstream of the dust container, and a centrifugal fan driven by the motor for inducing an airflow through the inlet duct, the dust container, and the outlet duct.

RECIPROCATING TOOL

A reciprocating tool easily supplies a lubricant, such as grease (lubricating oil), to a mechanism for reciprocating a slider, and prevents a lack of lubricant. A reciprocating saw as a reciprocating tool includes a motor, a reciprocating conversion mechanism that converts rotation of the motor to reciprocation, a slider connected to the reciprocating conversion mechanism and being reciprocable, and a slider guide that supports the slider in a reciprocable manner and includes a lubricant-passage member in contact with the slider to allow passage of at least part of a lubricant through the lubricant-passage member, and a lubricant reservoir located adjacent to the lubricant-passage member to store the lubricant.

ELECTRIC POWER TOOL

A metal wire may be provided inside a hanger portion extending with an annular shape and which is integrally formed with an outer casing. An electric power tool may be prevented from falling, etc. due to deformation or breakage of the hanger portion by being reinforced by the wire.

RECIPROCATING SAW

A reciprocating saw including a motor defining a motor axis, the motor including a front end and a back end, the front end including a front face defining a first vertical plane, and the back end including a rear face defining a second vertical plane parallel to the first vertical plane. The reciprocating saw also includes a dual-eccentric scotch yoke mechanism coupled to the motor. The scotch yoke mechanism includes a spindle driven to reciprocate relative to the motor along a spindle axis parallel to the motor axis, the spindle including a rear end nearest to the motor. The scotch yoke mechanism also includes a counterweight driven to reciprocate relative to the motor. The spindle is arranged above the motor. As the spindle reciprocates forward and backward, the rear end extends into a space defined between the first and second vertical planes.

SAW BLADE

A saw blade includes a cutting portion having consecutive first, second, and third cutting teeth. Each cutting tooth includes a rake surface, a relief surface, and a tip. The first cutting tooth includes a protrusion extending from the relief surface of the first cutting tooth. The cutting portion includes a first gullet positioned between the first cutting tooth and the second cutting tooth and a second gullet sized differently than the first gullet positioned between the second cutting tooth and the third cutting tooth. The cutting portion includes a first pitch extending over the first gullet from the tip of the first cutting tooth to the tip of the second cutting tooth. The cutting portion includes a second pitch different than the first pitch extending over the second gullet from the tip of the second cutting tooth to the tip of the third cutting tooth.
