RECIPROCATING TOOL
A reciprocating tool includes: a motor; a gear case; a converting mechanism; a plunger; a sealing member; and an auxiliary sealing member. The converting mechanism is accommodated in the gear case and configured to convert rotating motion of the motor into reciprocating movement in a predetermined direction. The plunger is provided with a mounting portion on which an end bit is mountable, and is reciprocally movably supported to the gear case. The plunger is driven by the converting mechanism to reciprocally move in the predetermined direction. The plunger is reciprocally movably inserted into the sealing member in the predetermined direction. The sealing member is supported by the gear case. The auxiliary sealing member is supported by the sealing member and sealing an outer peripheral surface of the plunger.
JIGSAW
A jigsaw including a housing, a drive assembly disposed within the housing and selectively driven by a power source, an output spindle to which a saw blade is attachable and driven in a reciprocating manner by the drive assembly, a foot plate coupled to the housing and configured to support the housing relative to a workpiece during a cutting operation, and a shoe removably coupled to the foot plate and configured to contact the workpiece during a cutting operation. The shoe includes a blade accommodating region within which at least one replacement saw blade is receivable for storage.
POWER TOOLS WITH CUTTING ELEMENT POSITION CONTROL
The present invention relates to a power tool and a method for controlling a stopping position of a cutting element in the power tool, the power tool including a cutting element, a sensor arranged to detect a position of the cutting element, and a controller operably connected with the sensor and the drive mechanism, for controlling a stopping position of the cutting element based on the detection by the sensor. When changing the cutting element, it is desirable to stop the cutting element at a higher position away from the object being cut, ideally the highest position. By utilizing a sensor to detect a sensed object in the cutting element, this method of control is automatic and reliable, allowing the user to change the cutting element easily and efficiently.
Spindle for a reciprocating saw
A method of manufacturing a spindle for a reciprocating saw includes machining a first portion of the spindle and forming a throughbore extending through the first portion via a flow welding process. The flow welding process includes rotating a rod relative to the spindle and inserting the rod into the first portion of the spindle, thereby displacing material from the spindle in a direction away from the rod to form the throughbore and a collar adjacent the throughbore.
Surgical Systems And Tools For Moving Energy Applicators In Superimposed Modes
A surgical tool may move a saw blade in a sagittal plane. The saw blade has a distal blade end with teeth. The surgical tool comprises a handpiece body and a carrier operatively attached to the handpiece body. The carrier is configured for oscillating movement about a pivot axis. A retainer is operatively attached to the carrier for concurrent movement and releasably secures the saw blade in the sagittal plane relative to the handpiece body. An actuator is coupled to the handpiece body to selectively oscillate the carrier relative to the handpiece body such that the retainer and the saw blade pivot back and forth about the pivot axis within the sagittal plane. An ultrasonic transducer is operatively attached to the handpiece body to selectively generate ultrasonic energy to resonate the saw blade such that the teeth at the distal blade end reciprocate proximally and distally within the sagittal plane.
JIGSAW
A power tool includes a housing having a base configured to support the power tool relative to a workpiece. The power tool includes a handle coupled to the housing. The handle defines a longitudinal axis and includes a first portion positioned between the longitudinal axis and the base and a second portion opposite the first portion along the longitudinal axis. The power tool includes an activation switch coupled to a side surface of the housing. The activation switch is slidable in a direction parallel with a switch axis that intersects the longitudinal axis from a deactivated state, in which the drive system is non-operable, to an activated state, in which the drive system is operable. The activation switch is slidable toward the second portion of the handle from an intersection point between the switch axis and the longitudinal axis.
BLADE CLAMP FOR POWER TOOL
A blade clamp for use with a power tool having a reciprocating spindle. The blade clamp comprises a cover threaded to the spindle for relative axial movement thereto in response to rotation of the cover relative to the spindle, an ejector pin positioned within the spindle, and a spring coupling the cover and the spindle. The spring biases the cover toward a first rotational position relative to the spindle coinciding with a locked configuration of the blade clamp. The cover is rotatable against the bias of the spring toward a second rotational position relative to the spindle coinciding with an unlocked configuration of the blade clamp. In the unlocked configuration, the ejector pin maintains the cover in the second rotational position. In response to insertion of a blade into the spindle, the blade clamp is automatically adjustable from the unlocked configuration to the locked configuration.
Reciprocating saw, such as a jigsaw
A jigsaw includes a housing having a body portion and a handle portion. The body portion has a forward end and a rearward end. The jigsaw also includes a motor positioned within the body portion of the housing. The motor is located forward of the handle portion. The jigsaw further includes a drive mechanism positioned within the body portion of the housing. The drive mechanism is coupled to the motor for driving a saw blade in a reciprocating motion. The jigsaw also includes a shoe assembly coupled to the body portion of the housing between the forward end and the rearward end.
RECIPROCATING SAW
A power tool includes a housing, a motor, and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes a driven gear that is rotated by the motor. The driven gear is vertically-oriented within the housing and has an upper portion and a lower portion. The drive mechanism also includes a connecting rod coupled to the driven gear to translate rotary motion of the driven gear into reciprocating motion, and an output shaft coupled to the connecting rod to reciprocate relative to the housing through a cutting stroke and a return stroke. The drive mechanism further includes a counterweight coupled to the driven gear for rotation with the driven gear. The counterweight moves through the upper portion of the driven gear during the cutting stroke of the output shaft, and moves through the lower portion of the driven gear during a return stroke of the output shaft.
Jigsaw
A jigsaw includes a jigsaw main body, a handle, and a battery. The jigsaw main body includes a housing, a motor disposed inside the housing, and a battery mounting portion having a first mounting surface facing downward. The handle is disposed at an upper portion of the jigsaw main body and above the motor. The battery has a second mounting surface and supplies the motor with an electric power. The battery is slidable along the first mounting surface and mountable to the battery mounting portion with the first and second mounting surfaces facing each other.
