AMMONIA ABATEMENT FOR ANIMAL LITTER
A method for preparing an ammonia abatement additive for poultry litter that is formulated to assure activation in an interior environment having various relative humidity conditions. The method includes obtaining a blended litter amendment composition that, based on weight, is about 40% deliquescent salt and about 60% aluminum sulfate, relative to a total weight of the two components. The composition can be made by the user or received, already blended, from a third party. To this blended composition that has been obtained, additional deliquescent salt is added in an amount such that the total amount of deliquescent salt is effective to activate the alum-containing ammonia abatement additive at the targeted low relative humidity condition in the interior of a poultry house. The composition is a sub-component of the ammonia abatement additive which may or may not contain additional compounds. The specified relative proportions (i.e., 40% deliquescent salt and 60% alum) only consider the proportion of deliquescent salt and the proportion of alum relative to the sum of the two components, based on weight. If there are other, extraneous compounds included in the ammonia abatement additive, those extraneous compounds are not counted in the defined and claimed proportions.
EXCREMENT TREATMENT MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
An excrement treatment material is constituted by a water-repellent grain. The grain exhibits a first color before being used, and exhibits a second color that is different from the first color when it is time to replace the grain.

Health monitoring cat litter
Technology is disclosed for a cat litter that can be used to diagnose feline medical conditions. A cat litter contains an additive, e.g., a chemical agent, such as a natural and/or synthetic agent, that changes in color when it comes in contact with cat urine or feces. Based on the color it can be determined whether the cat has a medical condition, such as particular illness. For example, if the litter turns yellow when it comes in contact with the urine, it can indicate that the cat is healthy. If the litter turns to a color other than yellow, e.g., green, it can indicate that the cat has some illness. The cat then be taken to a veterinary doctor for further diagnosis. The chemical agent aids in detection and diagnosis through interaction of materials that change colors to indicate reactions with specific chemicals, cells, molecules, DNA and/or materials. The technology can be implemented for medical diagnosis and detection—for humans and/or animals.

HOLLOW CORE GRANULES, PRODUCTS INCORPORATING THE GRANULES, AND METHODS OF PREPARING THE GRANULES
The present disclosure relates to hollow core granules, products incorporating the hollow core granules, and methods of making the hollow core granules. The hollow core granules can comprise at least one wall surrounding a cavity that is devoid of any solid or liquid so as to define a hollow core, the at least one wall comprising a plurality of individual particles of at least one wall forming material, the plurality of individual particles sufficiently bound together so that the at least one wall is structurally self-sustaining. The hollow core granules further can include a binder material present in the at least one wall. The hollow core granules can be useful as a standalone material and/or may be useful in preparing a variety of products wherein the hollow core granules may be mixed or otherwise combined with further components. The disclosure further provides methods of making such hollow core granules.
Animal bedding
Animal bedding, such as for a guinea pig, is disclosed. The animal bedding comprises a main section and a pocket. The main section includes a top layer, a middle layer, and a bottom layer. The top layer is hydrophobic, the middle layer is hydrophilic and at least a part of the bottom layer is hydrophobic. The top layer, the middle layer and the bottom layer are attached to one another, such as via stitching along a perimeter of the main section. Separately, the top layer and the middle layer are attached to one another, such as in an interior of the main section, to form quilting in the main section. The pocket, which is attached to the main section, allows the guinea pig to burrow therein.
Low density coated animal litter compositions
Animal litter compositions having relatively low densities are described herein. Methods of manufacturing such litter compositions are also described.
System for thermal comfort of animals in a livestock farming enclosure
Disclosed is a system for thermal comfort of animal in a livestock farming enclosure, which includes: at least one comfort mattress which includes at least one resilient layer including a plurality of sealed cavities which are parallel to one another; a heat-transfer fluid, intended for filling the sealed cavities; a unit for generating a circulation of the heat-transfer fluid inside the sealed cavities; and optionally a unit for regulating the temperature of the heat-transfer fluid.
Cat litter box mat
A pet litter box mat having a first planar layer which overlaps and covers a second planar layer. The layers are connected together by hinges. A plurality of openings are formed through the first layer and these openings increase in area from a side of the first mat which abuts the second mat to the other side of the first mat.
