Environment-Controlled Pet Shelter
20230078514 · 2023-03-16 ·

An animal shelter for reducing noise experienced by an animal is provided. The animal shelter may include one or more side panels creating a substantially enclosed area, a bottom panel coupled to said one or more side walls, and a grounding mat coupled to the bottom panel of the shelter, and configured to dissipate static charge. At least one of the one or more side panels and bottom panel may include an exterior layer of sound-absorbing foam. A fan may be included to direct cold air into the shelter to elevate the barometric pressure.

Lightweight coated extruded granular absorbent
11602120 · 2023-03-14 · ·

Method and coated lightweight granular absorbent formed of lightweight inner cores made of extruded pellets coated with powdered smectite, preferably bentonite, to form an outer sorbent smectite shell around each pellet producing lightweight sorbent granules where the pellets have sufficient water soluble binder to facilitate shell formation and clumping during sorbent use. When lightweight sorbent granules are wetted, clumps are formed that shrink during drying producing a clean, generally non-sticking clump having a high clump retention rate of at least 92% and/or a crush strength of at least 15 PSI. In a preferred method, the pellets are dried coated with dry powdered smectite before wetting using an atomizer or mister while turbulently directing air towards the pellets and powdered smectite to coat the pellets with the powdered smectite forming the outer sorbent shell while minimizing pellet shrinkage and densification. Such lightweight granular sorbent is well suited for use as litter.

Pet absorbent sheet

A pet absorbent sheet includes: an absorbent core; and a liquid-permeable sheet disposed closer to a top side of the pet absorbent sheet than the absorbent core and that includes a plurality of hydrophilic fibers. The liquid-permeable sheet has waterproof regions that contain a water resisting agent. The water resisting agent is formed to surround gaps between fibers formed of the plurality of hydrophilic fibers.

Pet Training Pad with Visually stimulating indiciums for Dichromatic Animals
20220330516 · 2022-10-20 ·

The present invention is a pet training pad apparatus suitable for excrement training for dichromatic animals. The pet training pad apparatus comprises a pad body and a visually stimulating indicium. The pad body comprises an excretion surface, an absorbent layer, and an impermeable layer. The visually stimulating indicium comprises at least one dichromatic vision detecting element. The absorbent layer is connected between the excretion surface and the impermeable layer. The visually stimulating indicium is connected along the excretion surface, opposite to the impermeable layer. The at least one dichromatic vision detecting element is distributed about the visually stimulating indicium, where the at least one dichromatic vision detecting element is configured to visually attract animals with dichromatic vision.

Extruded granular absorbent
11470811 · 2022-10-18 · ·

Extruded granular sorbent formed of sorbent granules each being or including an extruded pellet containing water soluble binder sufficient to self-clump when wetted producing clumps of granules each having a clump retention rate of at least 90% and which shrink after clump formation during drying producing a nonstick clump that condenses pulling away from any contacting solid surface minimizing adhesion therebetween. Such clumps preferably also have a crush strength of at least 15 PSI when dry. Pellets preferably contain cold water-soluble amylopectin binder that not only solubilizes when wetted to facilitate clumping but which also opens the interior of the pellet improving absorption capacity. Sorbent well suited for use as litter is formed of granules or pellets having sizes falling within a plurality of different size ranges with the smaller sized fines causing the clumps to form on top of the litter extending generally horizontally along the litter.

REDUCING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF FARMING USING BIOCHAR

A method for using treated biochar to reduce the overall environmental impact of farming and minimize the carbon footprint of farms is provided. The method comprising engaging in one or more of the following practices: (1) combining treated biochar with feed or using biochar as feed for animals to reduce methane from enteric fermentation and increase animal health and nutrition; (2) combining treated biochar with compost, animal bedding or manure piles to reduce odor and increase nutrient retention; (3) applying treated biochar to lagoons to reduce odor and treat water; (4) applying treated biochar to pastures to increase pasture health; (5) applying treated biochar to crops to increase crop productivity, healthier roots and prevent fertilizer leaching; and (6) using the carbon negativity of a produced biochar to reduce the overall farm or ranch carbon footprint.
