Hand held tilling device
A hand-held tilling device for powered hand-held tilling of substrate includes a support that is hollow. A drive assembly is coupled to a top end of the support. The drive assembly is configured for grasping in a hand of a user. A tillage assembly is coupled to a bottom end of the support. The tillage assembly is drivingly coupled to the drive assembly. The drive assembly is positioned on the support for grasping in the hand of the user. The drive assembly is positioned to motivate the tillage assembly to till a substrate selected by the user.
Drill attachment for tilling soil
A drill attachment for tilling soil has an extended drill shaft that is coupled with a till plate. The combination may be driven by an ordinary hand drill. The drill shaft has a stabilizer tip that protrudes beyond the till plate. The till plate includes a plurality of teeth that dig into and work top soil, while a generally planar disk-shaped body member at the top of the till plate prevents the till plate from sinking below the surface of the soil. The teeth are stamped from the till plate, forming openings in the generally planar disk-shaped body member. These openings and other optional openings cooperate with the teeth to further break up clumps of soil, and help to balance forces from the teeth pulling into the soil against the force of the body member that resists sinking into the earth. Optional weed-out and hole tools are also disclosed.
HANDHELD LAWN MAINTENANCE TOOL
A handheld lawn maintenance tool having a power head to which an adapter is attachable to allow both battery-powered and gasoline-powered working attachments to be attached thereto. The power head includes a power source, integrated first and second handles, a power generator, and a first attachment mechanism to which the adapter and/or working attachments are attachable.
HANDHELD CULTIVATOR
Improved cooling systems for handheld devices are disclosed. In some aspects, the cooling system may utilize air inlets disposed behind a guard to prevent debris or liquids from entering the handheld device and potentially causing damage to internal components of the handheld device. In aspects, vents may be disposed on the guard to divert cooling air into a housing of the handheld device to cool internal components, such as the motor or a printed circuit board (PCB). In some aspects, a motor mount may be provided that includes ribs defining air channels to divert or direct cooling air to components to be cooled. The air channels provided by the motor mount may enable the cooling air to reach portions of the internal components that may be distant from the air inlets of the housing. Transfer housings and gear guides may also be provided to improve stabilization and enhance cooling.
INTERCHANGEABLE TOOL ATTACHMENT AND SYSTEM
A cultivator tool includes a power head having a handle and a user interface. A motor is positioned within the power head and is configured to rotate a drive shaft about a drive axis. The cultivator further includes an attachment stem removably coupled to the power head at a first end and removably supporting a tool attachment unit at an opposite second end. A cover is receivable on the attachment stem between the tool attachment unit and the power head to cover a cutter rotatably supported on the tool attachment unit. The cover includes an aperture configured to receive a projection extending from the stem to limit rotation and sliding of the cover relative the tool attachment unit.
GARDENING APPARATUS AND METHODS OF USE
A gardening apparatus having, in one form, a shaft for being operatively connected to and rotated by a motor. The shaft including at least one vane extending therefrom and having a plurality of tines extending therefrom. The vane further having a raised wall extending therefrom. In another form, the apparatus includes a handpiece having a power source, motor, and a drive system operatively connected between the motor and the shaft to perform a variety of tasks such as tilling, hole digging, and/or weed removal.
Cutting Web
Systems and methods for cutting grass and other materials using a disk-shaped cutting web. The cutting web has a center portion that is attachable to a rotating shaft adapter. The center portion may be a solid annular disk having a keyed aperture that allows it to be mounted on a spindle of a rotating shaft adapter. The cutting web has multiple strings that are connected to the center portion and extend outward from it in a generally radial direction (away from the center of the disk). The strings intersect with each other to form junctions at which they are joined, thereby forming a web that can be rotated at high speed to perform a cutting function. The strings of the web can have sharp or serrated edges and may be colored to increase the visibility of the web.
Multi-Use Tool with Interchangeable Attachments
Systems and methods for using interchangeable tool attachments in multi-use tools. In one embodiment, a multi-use tool includes a motor, a shaft and a shaft adapter at the end of the shaft. The motor has user controls (e.g., on/off switch or throttle) that control the motor to drive the shaft and cause it to rotate. The shaft may include a rigid tubular outer member with a flexible inner shaft. The shaft adapter is coupled to the end of the rotating portion of the shaft. The shaft adapter has a mounting flange that rotates with the adapter at the end of the shaft. An interchangeable tool attachment is secured to the mounting flange, and rotation of the shaft adapter and mounting flange causes the tool attachment to rotate as well. Many different tool attachments can be interchangeably secured to the mounting flange to provide corresponding, different functions to the tool.
