SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MELTING METALS PRIOR TO A CASTING PROCESS
20220111435 · 2022-04-14 ·

A system for melting metals for casting includes one or more arc welding power supplies configured to provide one or more arc welding outputs, and one or more electrodes operatively connected to the one or more arc welding outputs. A solid metal holder is configured to hold a solid metal to be melted by one or more arcs formed between the one or more electrodes and the solid metal to generate a molten metal. A container is positioned proximate the solid metal holder to receive the molten metal. A robot is proximate both the container and a mold and/or a die cast machine. The robot has an arm configured to manipulate the container containing the molten metal and pour the molten metal from the container into the mold and/or the die cast machine for casting.

When MAG welding is selected, the positive terminal of the welding output unit (10) is connected to a MAG welding torch (2), and the negative terminal is connected to a welding base material (4). Meanwhile, when TIG welding is selected, the positive terminal of the welding output unit (10) is connected to the welding base material, and the negative terminal is connected to a TIG welding torch (3).

Arc Welding Device for Secondary Battery, and Welding Method Using the Same

An arc welding device for a secondary battery according to an embodiment of the present invention includes an upper fixing portion in which a plurality of welding electrode units connected to one pole of a welding power are disposed and a lower fixing portion disposed to face the upper fixing portion with an object to be welded therebetween and connected to the other pole of the welding power. The upper fixing portion includes a first facing surface facing the object to be welded and formed to be concave toward the object to be welded and the lower fixing portion includes a second facing surface facing the first facing face and formed to be convex to correspond to the concave shape of the first facing surface.

System and method for hot wire arc steering
10399172 · 2019-09-03 · ·

The invention described herein generally pertains to a system and method related to influencing a direction of an arc within a welding operation. Within a hot wire welding operation, an arc is generated between an electrode and a workpiece and a welding wire is energized while being supplied to a puddle formed by the electrode in order to deposit the liquefied welding wire onto the workpiece. A welder system and/or method is provided that controls a direction of the arc based on at least one of a polarity of the welding wire (via a power supply that energizes the welding wire), a location of the welding wire in proximity to the arc, a synchronization and/or de-synchronization of a polarity of the welding wire with the electrode, an activation and/or a de-activation of energizing of the welding wire, or a combination thereof.

PULSED ARC WELDING METHOD

The pulsed arc welding method supplies a pulsed current to a welding electrode and performs welding while the welding electrode is relatively moved with respect to a workpiece 40. The welding electrode includes a main electrode 13 and a sub electrode 23. The sub electrode 23 is arranged on the back side of the main electrode 13 in the moving direction, the sub electrode 23 is moved along with the main electrode 13 above a molten pool 41 formed by the main electrode 13, and a second pulsed current P2 that is asynchronous with a first pulsed current P1 to be supplied to the main electrode 13 is supplied to the sub electrode 23.
