A safety latch mechanism for anchoring an open center gate in a livestock trailer includes a spring-biased post attached to the center gate's free edge having a lifting lever at an upper end. An arcuate track embedded within the truck bed traces the path of the center gate's free edge when moving between a fully opened and a fully closed position. The track includes a series of juxtaposed, segregated compartments for receiving a lower end of the post. Accordingly, the center gate can be locked in a multitude of angular positions between the fully open and fully closed positions by lifting the lever and releasing it into one of the compartments.

A system for walking and carrying a pet can include a harness configured to be worn by the pet; a clip-on bag that is selectively attachable to and removable from the harness to be carried by the pet; and a pet carrying backpack configured to be stored within the clip-on bag to be carried by the pet. An animal enclosure including a plurality of members defining an interior of the enclosure. The plurality of members includes a first member having a frame and a door formed by a plurality of interconnected horizontal and vertical wires. The door is pivotable with respect to the frame and a latch maintains the door in a closed position when latched. At least one of the wires of the door assembly is configured to include one of an access portion and a tab, and at least one of the wires of the frame assembly includes the other of the access portion and the tab. The latch, when moved to an open position, enables sliding movement of the door with respect to the frame. Alignment of the access portion and tab provides for opening of the door and pivoting movement of the door with respect to the frame.

A carrier includes a body and a cover portion. The body has a bottom portion and a top portion and an opening in the top portion. The bottom portion is configured to be placed on a surface. The opening is the only opening sized and configured to enable an animal to enter or exit the body and enables an animal to enter or exit the body in a vertical manner when the bottom portion is placed on the surface. The cover portion is sized and configured to fit within the opening of the top portion. The cover portion is hingedly attached to the top portion at a first side and includes a latching mechanism at a second side. The latching mechanism enables the cover to be disposed in a latched state to close the opening in the top portion.

A pet kennel and method of construction is disclosed herein. In an embodiment, the pet kennel includes a body and a door assembly. The body has an interior space configured for a pet and includes at least one aperture sized and shaped for the pet. The door assembly is attached to the body at the aperture. The door assembly includes a latching part pivotally attached to a hinge part. The latching part includes a latching mechanism configured to lock and unlock the door assembly. The hinge part is fixedly attached to the body so as to substantially surround a perimeter of the aperture.

A rolled and collapsible pet carrier includes an elongated panel mutually coupled with a first upstanding sidewall and a second upstanding sidewall.
