Electrospark deposition system for repair of gas turbine
A system and method for repairing a metal substrate includes an electrospark device and an electrode removably supported in the electrode holder. The electrospark device applies a coating of a material when placed into contact with the metal substrate. A cooling device to lowers the temperature of shielding gas flow below an ambient temperature. A conduit is arranged to direct a flow of the shielding gas to the interface of the electrode and the substrate to cool the area of the substrate receiving the coating.

A plasma torch includes an electrode, a center pipe, and a coolant passage. The electrode includes an internal passage, a tip portion, a convex portion, and an electrode insert. The center pipe is at least partially arranged in the internal passage of the electrode. The center pipe includes first and second pipe ends. The coolant passage first, second, third, and fourth passages. A coolant flows from the first passage through the second passage and the third passage to the fourth passage. At least a part of the convex portion is arranged in the center pipe. The inner surface of the center pipe includes a first inclined surface having a diameter that decreases toward a distal direction. The distal direction is a direction extending from the second pipe end to the first pipe end. The first inclined surface extends toward the root portion of the convex portion.

A disclosed example submerged arc welding torch includes: a first contact tip configured to transfer weld current and preheating current to the wire; a second contact tip configured to conduct the preheating current to the wire; an air-cooled first conductive body portion configured to receive the weld current and to conduct the weld current and the preheating current to the first contact tip; an air-cooled second conductive body portion configured to receive the preheating current and to conduct the preheating current to the second contact tip; and an insulator coupled between the first and second conductive body portions.
DEVICE FOR SUPPLYING COOLANT, CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SUCH A DEVICE, AND A METHOD FOR OPERATING SUCH A COOLANT SUPPLY SYSTEM
The invention relates to a coolant supply device of a machining device to be supplied with a fluid coolant, particularly with water, for example a welding arrangement (2) or a welding robot etc., the region or tool to be cooled, for example a welding cap, being incorporated into an open or closed coolant circuit which has an inflow (4) and an outflow (5), and said device comprising a conveyor device that operates in the coolant circuit and conveys the coolant within said coolant circuit, and a control device (8) for deactivating said conveyor device and/or closing the inflow (4) and/or outflow (5) and evacuating said inflow (4) and/or outflow (5) such that, in the region of the tool being cooled, an at least negligible level of negative pressure prevails in the inflow line (9) and/or in the outflow line (12).
ELECTRODE CHIP ATTACHMENT DEVICE
In an electrode chip attachment device, a guide member which is formed such that the guide member can be divided into a first half member and a second half member with a division surface that is passed though the communication hole and that is parallel to the axial direction and a coupling shaft serving as a separate mechanism which separates the first half member and the second half member from each other when the chip holder is pushed into the first tapered portion and the second tapered portion from the opposite side of the electrode chip and which passes the chip holder to the side of the electrode chip.
Nozzle insert for an arc welding apparatus
A consumable assembly for use in an arc welding apparatus is provided that includes a nozzle assembly having a nozzle body, an insulator disposed within the nozzle body, and a nozzle insert disposed within the insulator. The nozzle insert includes an internal gas diverter. A contact tip is disposed within the nozzle assembly and includes at least one aperture extending from an exterior portion to an internal cavity, an exit orifice, a distal end face, and an exterior surface extending between the at least one aperture and the distal end portion of the contact tip. The internal gas diverter directs a flow of shield gas exiting the at least one aperture along the exterior surface of the contact tip.
High performance contact tip and nozzle assembly for an arc welding apparatus
A consumable assembly for use in an arc welding apparatus is provided that includes a nozzle assembly having a nozzle body, an insulator disposed within the nozzle body, and a nozzle insert disposed within the insulator. The nozzle insert includes an internal gas diverter. A contact tip is disposed within the nozzle assembly and includes at least one aperture extending from an exterior portion to an internal cavity, an exit orifice, a distal end face, and an exterior surface extending between the at least one aperture and the distal end portion of the contact tip. The internal gas diverter directs a flow of shield gas exiting the at least one aperture along the exterior surface of the contact tip, and a principal distance from the at least one aperture to the distal end face is varied to adjust the flow of the shield gas for improved cooling.
Positioning system and method for arc welding consumables
A nozzle assembly for a welding torch, a welding torch that includes said nozzle assembly, and a method of using the welding torch is provided. The nozzle assembly generally comprises an insulator having a plurality of grooves around an outer periphery, a plurality of sealing members disposed within the grooves of the insulator; and a nozzle body slip-fit around the insulator, such that at least one of the insulator and the nozzle body define position indicia.
