REPAIRING LASER WELDING METHOD AND REPAIRING LASER WELDING DEVICE
Irradiation with a laser beam is performed along a welding bead, while the laser beam is aimed, as an irradiation point of the laser beam, at a contact point between a deck plate and a U-rib that is contained in a non-welded portion of a root part, from a side of the welding bead of the root part. Thereby, it is possible to remove a crack beginning at the non-welded portion of the root part generated at a joining portion between the deck plate and the U-rib of a steel floor slab, by the irradiation with the laser beam.
PIPELINE HANDLER WITH WELDER
Provided is a weld assembly supported from an arm of a heavy equipment vehicle. The vehicle includes a pipe grabber for manipulating the position of a pipe. The weld assembly integrated with and supported from the manipulator. The weld assembly further includes a conforming ring, a sensor assembly and an orbital welder. The weld assembly is also of a clam shell construction for wrapping around two pipe ends to be welded.
PIPE PROCESSING TOOL WITH PIPE DEFORMATION MEMBERS
A pipe processing tool that is configured to deform the end of a pipe so that the circumferential shape of the end of the pipe generally matches the circumferential shape of an adjacent pipe end. Matching the circumferential shapes of the pipe ends is advantageous during a pipe attachment process. The pipe processing tool can include a deformation ring with a plurality of pipe deformation members. Each pipe deformation member faces radially inward and is actuatable in a radial direction toward and away from the center of the deformation ring in order to permit engagement with the pipe. Each pipe deformation member is individually and separately actuatable from the other pipe deformation members so that the circumferential shapes of the pipes can be altered by controlling suitable ones of the pipe deformation members.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ULTRASONIC ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
In a method of applying a weld to a target surface, a guide rail arrangement is attached to the target, the guide rail arrangement including at least one guide rail. A weld head carriage having a carriage housing, a rail follower assembly, and a sonotrode is movably mounted to the guide rail arrangement so that the follower assembly engages each guide rail for movement there-along. The weld head carriage is positioned adjacent the target surface, feedstock material is deposited onto the target surface, and the sonotrode is extended to engage the deposited feedstock material and apply a welding force to the feedstock material and the target. Relative movement between the carriage and the guide rail arrangement is initiated and ultrasonic vibrations are conducted into the feedstock material and the target, thereby welding the feedstock material to the target surface.
MANUAL TUBE WELDING DEVICE
A device for welding may include a track configured to surround a workpiece. The device for welding may also include a cart configured to contact the track such that the track guides the cart around the workpiece. The cart may include a frame and a welding torch receptacle. The welding torch receptacle can be attached to the frame. The welding torch receptacle may be configured to maintain a tip of the welding torch at a set distance away from the workpiece while the cart moves around the workpiece.
Systems and methods for use in welding pipe segments of a pipeline
A system for welding two pipes includes a first pipe clamp, a second pipe clamp, a weld torch, an inspection detector, a motor, one or more processors, and a grinder. The weld torch is configured to create a weld joint between the pipes at an interface region between the pipes. The inspection detector is configured to emit an inspection beam of radiation. The motor is operatively associated with the inspection detector to direct the inspection beam of radiation along the weld joint between the pipes. The one or more processors are operatively associated with the inspection detector to determine a profile of the weld joint between the pipes. The grinder is configured to grind at least a portion of the weld joint between the pipes based on the profile of the weld joint between the pipes.
Methods and apparatus relating to pipe welding
A method of aligning first and second pipes end-to-end in a position ready for welding. Each pipe has an end bevelled with a shape scanned and stored in memory of a control unit. At least one of the pipes has machine readable codes distributed around their circumference of the pipe. The method includes effecting relative movement of the ends of the first and second pipes towards each other, reading at least one of the codes with a reader, and ascertaining the relative movement required to align the pipes in accordance with a target orientation. The relative movement is ascertained with information provided by the read code and the shapes of the bevelled ends stored in the control unit memory. In other aspects, a closed loop control method and machine-learning may be used to align the pipes. A pipe-laying vessel including pipe handling equipment and the control unit is also provided.
Wire management for a welding system
A welding system can manage wire feeders such that unused wire feeders are conveniently stowed. The welding system include two or more wire feeders individually attachable to a welding torch. The welding system includes one or more mount points to secure unused wire feeders and enable convenient swapping of an active wire feeder.
Device for welding, using a device, an insulating means body and a method for producing said device
An orbital welding device includes a receiving region into which a round tubular object to be welded can be inserted. The receiving region is designed in two parts with a folding joint for folding together a closing region, and includes a welding means which is rotated about the receiving region and by which the round tubular object is welded in a revolution using an arc welding. An electrically chargeable positive pole is provided on two surrounding outer plate means comprising an aluminum clamp shell housings, and an opposite electrically chargeable negative pole, is arranged on the receiving region with the rotating welding means. A respective insulating body is arranged between the positive pole and the negative pole. The insulating body includes a 3D-printed region, produced by a plastic powder laser sintering method, with one or more conducting means for welding gas and/or one or more conducting means for cooling water.
Mobile welding system
A mobile welding system that does not rely exclusively on a track to define the path of the welder. One embodiment includes a mobile welder adapted to move along a work piece. The mobile welder includes a chassis, including a welding implement, and a travel assembly configured to support the chassis over a portion of the work piece. The mobile welder also includes a motor assembly configured to selectively cause the chassis to move relative to the work piece. The mobile welder further includes a chassis holder, having a magnet assembly, configured to provide a force holding the chassis a selected distance from the work piece. The magnet assembly includes a magnet rotatably mounted between a ferrous material and a non-ferrous material to selectively control application of a magnetic field toward the work piece.
