FLUID SUPPLY CONDUIT AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING SUCH A CONDUIT
A method for providing a fluid supply conduit configured to pass through a constrained environment, including providing a circular section tube of appropriate dimensions, die stamping the circular section tube so as to obtain an oblong section tube of oval section, providing a plurality of external stiffeners of hollowed out shape adapted to the external dimensions of the oblong section tube, assembling the external stiffeners around a portion of the section of the oblong section tube.
Welded structure, laser welding method, and laser welding device
A nozzle as a welded structure includes a nozzle body, and a buckling prevention fin joined to the nozzle body by laser welding, in which an end of the buckling prevention fin before laser welding is disposed to face the nozzle body, an installed state of the nozzle body and the buckling prevention fin includes an installed state in which a gap is formed between the nozzle body and the buckling prevention fin, and the buckling prevention fin has a beveled portion which is beveled at the end facing the nozzle body.
Structural case for aircraft gas turbine engine
The structural case has an annular body having a central axis and including a plurality of boss sections circumferentially interspaced from one another around the axis by a plurality of arcuate panel sections, each panel section having: two parallel arcuate structural flange members being axially interspaced from one another; a sheet metal wall extending between and interconnecting the two flange members; and at least one rib having an edge welded to the sheet-metal wall.
MAGNETIC ELEVATOR DRIVE MEMBER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
An illustrative example embodiment of a method of making a rotary magnetic drive member includes establishing a helical magnet on a rod using an additive manufacturing process.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONNECTING COMPONENTS OF A FIREARM SUPPRESSOR
The present invention describes a stronger and more durable welded joint for attaching individual baffle members and spacer members within a firearm suppressor or silencer. In the preferred embodiment, the diameter of the individual spacers is slightly larger than the diameter of the adjacent baffle members at the joint. Additionally, the thickness of the spacer member casing increases as it approaches the joint. When the spacer members are attached to the ends of the baffle members, this configuration produces a joint such that the entire well seam is inside the diameter of the adjacent spacers, i.e. no material extends beyond the diameter of the spacer. The extra material on the spacer at the baffle/spacer joint is then melted along with the baffle material to form a stronger welded joint that does not extend beyond the diameter of the spacer.
TUBE FOR A HEAT EXCHANGER AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THEREOF
A tube for a heat exchanger including a tube structure made of lightweight metal alloy and having an inner surface and an outer surface. The tube further includes: a first layer of material on the outer surface of the tube structure, the first layer having different chemical composition than the tube structure, a second layer of material on the first layer of material, the second layer having different chemical composition than the tube structure and the first layer. The first layer includes metallic material having a lower galvanic potential than the tube structure. The first layer includes the deposition of zinc particles within the first layer. The deposition of zinc is not less than 3 g/m.sup.2 and not more than 7 g/m.sup.2. The second layer includes an aluminum silicon compound. The deposition of aluminum silicon compound within the second layer is not less than 14 g/m.sup.2 and not more than 16 g/m.sup.2.
Extrusion piece with insert of dissimilar material
A profile piece includes: an extruded piece of a first material having a mouth portion along at least part of its length; and an insert of a second material different than the first material, the insert attached to the extruded piece by the mouth portion, wherein the insert is configured for welding the profile piece to a component of a third material different than the first material.
Liner assembly and method of turbulator fabrication
A method of turbulator fabrication is provided and includes additively disposing an elongate flexible member in tension onto a liner body, dispensing braze paste at an elongate flexible member-liner body interface and conducting a brazing process with respect to the braze paste to attach the elongate flexible member to the liner body.
Device having an electroformed pleated region and method of its manufacture
A deflectable, flexible device includes an elongate body, a convoluted tip portion at a distal end of the elongate body, and a lumen to receive one or more wires. The convoluted tip portion includes an electroformed pleated region which is formed by electrodepositing a metal on a mandrel having a pleated region. The convoluted tip portion may be hermetically sealed to permit repeated sterilization. The electroformed pleated region may include one or more fluid emission orifices. The convoluted tip portion extends or bends in response to fluid pressure manipulation, contact with tissue, manipulation with an internal spring or wire, or by a user pushing, pulling, or twisting the catheter directly or via an introducer sheath or the like. The convoluted tip portion may further include an RF ablation element or other energy-driven technique to create continuous linear lesions or a sensing element.
SOIL AUGER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
An auger useable for creating an opening in the ground for a soil sensor housing wherein the sensor housing has a predetermined volume and a tapered outer surface, includes an auger made in accordance with the methods described and defined in this specification. The auger having a shaft having an outer surface of circular cross-section having an larger outer diameter at one end than the other end and a strip material having a helical shape with an inner wall having a larger inner diameter at one end than the other end of the helical shape wherein the helically shaped material is fixed over the outer diameter of the shaft to form a tapered auger with helical flighting. The volume of the opening created by an auger in the ground will provide a matching volume for a sensor housing of a predetermined volume such that substantially the full length of the tapered outer surface of the sensor is adjacent the ground along the full length/depth of the created opening.
