Apparatus for automatic placement of gaskets on a housing

An apparatus for automatic placement of gaskets on a housing includes a base, the second feeding mechanism, a first detecting member, a bearing mechanism, an assembly mechanism, and a controller. The first detecting member can detect the position of the gaskets relative to the preset position. The detected results are transmitted to the controller by the first detecting member. The controller controls the second feeding mechanism to accurately adjust the position of the gaskets to preset position. Therefore, a projection of the gasket is accurately engaged in a mounting hole of the housing by the assembly mechanism.

A method of mounting an elastic ring, e.g., sealing ring, on a body via a mounting unit is presented, having at least three fingers which are movable relative to each other. The method comprises holding and clamping the ring on the exterior side of the fingers which extend into a cross-section framed by the ring, moving at least one finger along a circle or a plurality of fingers along a common circle or a plurality of concentric circles such that the elastic ring is stretched and the cross-section thereof is increased, moving the ring and the component relative to each other so that the component projects into the cross-section and the ring extends around the component, moving one or more fingers relative to each other so that the ring contacts the component in sections between adjacent fingers, and moving the fingers out of the ring. Also disclosed are a mounting unit for executing the method, and a ring mounting device including such a mounting unit.

Snap ring expander

A manufacturing assembly for installing a snap ring into a bore of a multi-axial joint includes a ram tool configured to axially force the snap ring through the bore towards a retention groove with the snap ring in a constricted configuration. An axially distal end of the ram tool includes one or more engagement elements having a tapered engagement surface configured to apply a radially outward force to the snap ring during passage thereof through the bore to urge the snap ring to expand from the constricted configuration back towards an original configuration upon the snap ring reaching the retention groove. A funnel tool configured to constrict and the direct the snap ring into the bore includes an alignment key configured for reception within a keyway of the ram tool during installation of the snap ring to orient the funnel tool and the snap ring relative to the ram tool.

O-ring mounting template and method

An apparatus for inserting a seal member into a seal groove includes a tray. The tray includes a holding groove formed in a front surface for containing the seal member. The holding groove is sized and shaped to correspond with the seal groove. A method of installing a seal member into a seal groove includes aligning the holding groove with the seal groove, and applying a pressure to a back surface of the tray, thereby deforming the tray and inserting the seal member into the seal groove.

Apparatuses for controlling fluid flow are important components for delivering process fluids for semiconductor fabrication. These apparatuses for controlling fluid flow require a variety of fluid flow components which are tightly packaged within the apparatuses for controlling flow. Servicing the apparatuses requires specialized equipment and methods which enable installation of seals in close quarters in apparatuses which are installed in the field. Seal retainers may be used to retain the seals during assembly of fluid flow components into apparatus for controlling flow.
