Ergonomic gardening implement
10524412 · 2020-01-07 ·

A specifically configured gardening implement including an arced extension between the handle and the tool component. Such an implement permits greater versatility and facilitates typical gardening operations without losing any tool-using capabilities. Such an arced extension leads from a standard elongated, straight handle to the edge of a tool component, providing an ergonomic disposition of the tool in relation to the handle itself. In such a manner the arced extension allows for greater reach from a standing position, as well as the ability to adjust the actual handling of the overall implement to different angles without the need for uncomfortable and/or possibly. harmful repositioning by the user, as well. The inclusion of different tool components within the base handle/extension structure are also encompassed within the invention.

In the presented solution, a garden tool includes a handle and a tool part, which handle is attached to the tool part to constitute a pulling handle. Then, the garden tool is mainly used by pulling from its handle. The handle includes an operating part which is grabbed when using the garden tool and a connecting part to attach the handle to the tool part. Between the operating part and the connecting part, there is an angle such that the axial direction of the operating part differs from the axial direction of the connecting part. The connecting part is further attached into connection with the tool part such that the connecting part is able to rotate around its axial direction in relation to the tool part.

A pole has an upper end and a lower end. A blade has a forward surface, a rearward surface, a central section, a left side section, and a right side section. Hinges couple the left side section and the right side section to the central section respectively. A converting assembly facilitates movement of the pole and conversion of the blade between a first orientation for digging/lifting and a second orientation for snow pushing. housing is secured to and extends rearwardly from the central section. A pivot pin couples the lower end of the pole to the housing. A block is slidably received within the housing. A left linkage assembly couples the left side of the blade to the block. A right linkage assembly couples the right side section of the blade to the block.
