Machining tool utilizing a supercritical coolant
A machining tool is provided having an insert that includes one or more interface surfaces configured to interact with a workpiece. The machining tool also has one or more distribution passages located within the insert. The one or more distribution passages are situated and sized to direct a fluid to the one or more interface surfaces while maintaining the fluid above a pressure at which the fluid exists in a supercritical state.
Apparatus for cooling machine components using phase-change material
The invention relates, on the one hand, to a machine element (6), for example a motor spindle or an electromechanical drive unit, with integrated, internal cooling system (8) and, on the other hand, to a closed cooling circuit (24) with corresponding machine element (6). According to the invention, the cooling takes place with a special coolant (4). The coolant (4) is a dispersion containing at least one Phase Change Material (PCM).
Method of Drilling Hole and Coolant Used In Hole Drilling Work
Provided is a method of drilling a hole in a drilling object by using a hole drilling device 1 including: a drill bit 3 including a cutting edge on a distal end thereof; and an electric drill 2, which rotates the drill bit 3, the method including a cutting step of rotating the drill bit 3 to drill a hole in the drilling object in a state where a water-soluble gel coolant is applied to the distal end of the drill bit 3.
MACHINING A COOLED REGION OF A BODY
A method is provided for manufacturing a component using a body comprising metal. This method includes: cooling the body to provide at least a cooled region of the body; and machining the cooled region using a tool that contacts the cooled region.
DRILLING TOOL AND DEVICE FOR DRILLING WITH CRYOGENIC COOLING AND METHOD FOR DRILLING A STACK OF HETEROGENEOUS MATERIALS
A drill bit having an interior canal for liquid nitrogen to pass longitudinally through the body of the drill bit. The canal has, on the side of a cutting edge of the drill bit, at least one liquid nitrogen ejection duct that opens near the cutting edge which is formed by an insert made with polycrystalline diamond fixed to the body of the drill bit. A device for drilling a metal-composite stack includes the drill bit, a liquid nitrogen production unit and a distribution network to distribute the liquid nitrogen. The device drills through a metal-composite stack in a single pass of the drill bit. The liquid nitrogen at cryogenic temperature is conveyed close to the cutting edge, at least while the cutting edge is in contact with the metallic material.
Tool arrangement and tool receptacle for such a tool arrangement
A tool arrangement with a tool receptacle and a tool, with at least one fluid channel for supplying a fluid to the tool provided in the tool arrangement. In order to allow an improved supply of alternative fluids to the tool, the fluid channel has at least one throttle point for maintaining the pressure in the fluid channel upstream of the throttle point, and the throttle point is suitable for keeping the pressure on the fluid sufficiently high such that no excessive premature evaporation of the fluid takes place.
