POSITION FEEDBACK CONTROL METHOD AND POWER TOOL
20190358761 · 2019-11-28 ·

Various embodiments of power tool and method of operating same are described. The power tool may include a first position sensor, a second position sensor, a third position sensor, and a controller. The first, second, and third position sensors may each generate a signal indicative of a distance between the respective position sensor and a workpiece. The controller may determine one or more angles of the power tool with respect to the workpiece based on the first, second, and third signal and present an indication as to whether the one or more angles are within a predetermined range. The controller may further obtain a depth measurement based on the first signal, the second signal, and the third signal and generate, based on the obtained depth measurement, one or more control signals that control operation of the power tool.

A controller performs high-accuracy oscillation control in which an axis driven by a motor is rocked in accordance with the rotation of a spindle motor for driving a main spindle. This controller determines a reference speed of rocking motion based on a reference speed set in advance, a reference main spindle rotational speed of the spindle motor, and an actual main spindle rotational speed, and calculates a rocking motion speed for each control period based on the determined reference speed of the rocking motion. The calculated rocking motion speed for each control period is added to a command outputted by the controller for controlling the position of the motor for each control period.

APPARATUS AND METHOD OF ADAPTIVE LASER CUTTING CONTROL BASED ON OPTICAL INSPECTION
20190202006 · 2019-07-04 ·

An apparatus and method of improving the stability and repeatability of the laser cutting of an RFID antenna is disclosed. The present invention provides direct feedback from an optical inspection of the cutting process to the control system to determine the shape of the RFID antennas that are being cut and compare the same to the desired RFID antenna shape or pattern. When appropriate, the present invention enables a user to employ both short term and long term feedback data to make modifications to the laser cutting process to improve the same and reduce waste.

Cutting equipment and its controllers

An apparatus including a controller, and at least two cutting head assemblies. The controller typically includes a computer processor, and a computer memory, having a computer program stored therein. The controller automatically controls the current load of a cutting motor of each of the at least two cutting head assemblies via current sensors, in response to monitoring real time current loads. The controller may also control feed mechanism speed. The feed mechanism may include a conveyor belt. The controller may also be programmed to control a position or height of each of the at least two cutting head assemblies with respect to the feed mechanism. The two or more cutting head assemblies may be attached to a frame, and the controller may control the movement of the frame perpendicular to the direction of movement of feeding mechanism. Cutting head pads may be monitored for wear and replaced if necessary.
