Automated drywall painting system and method
An automated painting system that includes a robotic arm and a painting end effector coupled at a distal end of the robotic arm, with the painting end effector configured to apply paint to a target surface. The painting system can also include a computing device executing a computational planner that: generates instructions for driving the painting end effector and robotic arm to perform at least one painting task that includes applying paint, via the painting the end effector, to a plurality of drywall pieces, the generating based at least in part on obtained target surface data; and drives the end effector and robotic arm to perform the at least one painting task.
Trimming tool and method of use
An example trimming tool includes a floating base having a first side and an opposite, second side, a first rail, and a second rail. At least the second side of the floating base, the first rail and the second rail define a workspace having a first opening and a second opening. The trimming tool also includes a milling apparatus, attached to the floating base, having a base on the first side of the floating base and a milling head on the second side of the floating base. The milling head is spring loaded. The floating base and milling apparatus are configured to remove at least a portion of a foam layer in the workspace.
Sanding tool with intermediate adapter pad
Example implementations relate to a sanding tool having an intermediate adapter pad. The sanding tool includes a rigid base plate configured for releasable attachment to a number of sanding handles. The sanding tool also includes an adapter pad that comprises: an upper portion configured to receive the rigid base plate, the upper portion including a perimeter portion that extends above an upper surface of the rigid base plate; and a lower surface configured for releasable attachment to a lower pad, wherein a lower surface of the lower pad is configured for releasable attachment to a working material. The perimeter portion includes a channel configured to receive a bristle ring.
