An abrasive disc for use with a sanding tool having a plurality of dust collection holes includes a hole pattern consisting of six openings arranged for substantial alignment with the dust collection holes provided in the sanding tool.

Electric grinder with switched reluctance motor
10086489 · 2018-10-02 · ·

An electric grinder with a switched reluctance motor comprises a body, a transmission assembly, a grinding wheel, and a dust-proof assembly. The body includes a first casing and a second casing. The transmission assembly includes a switched reluctance motor disposed in the first casing, a driving module disposed in the second casing, a transmission shaft connected with the switched reluctance motor, and an assemblage seat disposed in the transmission shaft. The assemblage seat includes an assemblage member for assembling the grinding wheel. The dust-proof assembly includes a dust-proof hood disposed in the first casing. Because of being driven by the switched reluctance motor, the electric grinder of the present invention adapts to the cases of phase failure, frequent start-stop operations, and phase inversion.

Abrasive article having a non-uniform distribution of openings

An abrasive article having a plurality of apertures arranged in a non-uniform distribution pattern, wherein the pattern is spiral or phyllotactic, and in particular those patterns described by the Vogel equation. Also, provided is a back-up pad having a spiral or phyllotactic patterns of air flow paths, such as in the form of open channels. The back-up pad can be specifically adapted to correspond with an abrasive article having a non-uniform distribution pattern. Alternatively, the back-up pad can be used in conjunction with conventional perforated coated abrasives. The abrasive articles having a non-uniform distribution pattern of apertures and the back-up pads can be used together as an abrasive system.

ELECTRICAL HAND-HELD TOOL WITH PROTECTIVE DUST COVER
20180222011 · 2018-08-09 ·

The invention relates to an electric hand-held tool with a tool mount, a motor for driving a tool fastened in the tool mount, and a housing which includes a handle area, a motor area for accommodating the motor, and in which vent openings are configured for the ventilation of the motor. At least in the area of the vent openings, the housing is provided with at least one cover with a closed surface, said cover sitting flush against the housing with an edge area facing the tool mount, being arranged at a distance from the housing in an area above the vent openings, and leaving a gap between the cover and the housing in the area of its edge area facing away from the tool mount.

Rotary sanding system

A rotary sanding system for retro fitting a Rotozip sanding disk to an air tool includes a first disk that may be removably coupled to an air tool thereby facilitating the air tool to rotate the first disk. The first disk has a plurality of openings extending therethrough and air may pass through the openings. A mating unit is coupled to the first disk. The mating unit engages the air tool thereby facilitating the first disk to be removably coupled to the air tool. A sanding disk is removably coupled to the first disk. The sanding disk may abrade a surface when the air tool rotates the first disk.

Adaptive dust shield device having zero standoff capability
10035240 · 2018-07-31 · ·

An Adaptive Dust Shield Device having Zero Standoff Capability for rotary grinders having a bearing housing and an axial groove around the bearing housing. The dust shield has a cover molded from a single shot. The cover has a plurality of upstanding flexible fingers, in multiples of four, which extend upward from the cover. A door is formed in one side of the dust shield cover to allow the user to use the dust shield in zero clearance situations. The flexible fingers have a defined width and are separated apart from each other by a space between each one. The width of the space is less than the defined width of the flexible fingers. A stretchable fitting ring fits onto the bearing housing of the grinder and under the flexible fingers. The flexible fingers are secured onto the stretchable fitting ring by a securing fastener. There are a plurality of vent holes formed in the top wall that are selectively pluggable with plug elements.
