KNIFE BLOCK WITH STORAGE SLOT BLADE SHARPENERS AND CUTLERY SET USING SAME
A knife block may include a block body with a recessed portion and a block insert positioned at least partially within the recessed portion. The block insert may include a first knife slot and a second knife slot. The knife block may include a first knife sharpener coupled to the block insert, where the first knife slot is sized such that a first knife is sharpened by the first knife sharpener each time the first knife is removed from the first knife slot, and a second knife sharpener coupled to the block insert, where the second knife slot is sized such that a second knife is sharpened by the second knife sharpener each time the second knife is removed from the second knife slot. The knife block may include a first knife storage slot and a second knife storage slot.

BLADE SHARPENING DEVICE
Provided herein is a blade sharpening device. The blade sharpening device may include a block configured to receive one or more blades and a sharpening mechanism. The sharpening mechanism may include one or more sharpening stones, one or more sliding mechanisms configured to receive the one or more sharpening stones, and one or more springs. When the one or more blades are inserted into the block, the one or more springs may provide upward tension to the sliding mechanisms, and the one or more sharpening stones may engage with the one or more blades to sharpen said blades. The sharpening mechanism may further include one or more gibs configured to receive the one or more sliding mechanisms.
Knife sharpening sheath and method for making the same
A knife sharpening sheath has an open end for receiving a knife, and which open end also includes provision for receiving and securing a knife sharpening cartridge. The sheath includes openings in opposing sides and the knife sharpening cartridge includes rearwardly extending legs configured to be received by, and secured into said openings in the opposing sides.
Knife block with storage slot blade sharpeners and cutlery set using same
A knife block is described that includes a block body and a block insert that is coupled to the block body. The block insert includes a sharpening element holder and a cap attached to the sharpening element holder. The cap and the sharpening element holder have matching geometry. The cap or the sharpening element holder comprises one or more pins and the other of the cap or the sharpening element holder comprises a corresponding number of holes, such that the pins are received within the holes to align the cap and the sharpening element holder. The first sharpening element and a second sharpening element form a V-shape having a first sharpener angle that is greater than a first blade edge angle of the first knife.
Knife Rack
In one example, we describe a device for an efficient and compact rack system for knives and other kitchenware. This stylish design integrates: One or more (e.g., three) grinders, a cutting/chopping board, a tray, and a complete full size knife rack, as an example. All these kitchen tools are specifically designed to fit in the same space that a full-size knife rack normally takes. Many different variations are shown here, as well. For example, we have added a hollow space between the back board and front of the block, for big utensils or objects. We have also an option for a holder for books, pads, tablets, eye glasses, pens, notes, or smart phones. We have also an option for a holder for chopping board or plate or tray, on the back side.
Cutlery sharpener
A cutlery sharpener is disclosed for conditioning a cutlery edge. The cutlery sharpener comprises a sharpening shaft extending between a proximal end and a distal end and defining a sharpening surface for engaging the cutlery edge. A line of symmetry extends through the proximal end and the distal end of the sharpening shaft. A handle extends between a proximal end and a distal end and defining a handle surface for engaging a hand. A non-line of symmetry extends through the proximal end and the distal end of the handle. A couple links the proximal end of the sharpening shaft with the proximal end of the handle. The non-line of symmetry maintains a thumb and a plurality of fingers of the hand in a safe orientation and safe distance from the cutlery edge during displacement of the handle relative to the cutlery edge and engagement between the cutlery edge and the sharpening shaft.
