Clamping device for clamping a fastener
09555524 · 2017-01-31 · ·

A clamping device for clamping a fastener, includes a clamping jaw, a first biasing member for biasing the clamping jaw, a clamping body having a central axis, a driving assembly for driving the clamping jaw to clamp the fastener, and a second member which can be driven by the first member to move axially relative to the clamping body so as to push the clamping jaw to clamp the fastener. The clamping body is formed with a notch for receiving the clamping jaw and the driving assembly is supported on the clamping body and includes a first member which can rotate and move axially relative to the clamping body. The installation structures between the clamping body, the driving assembly and the clamping jaw may be designed to be more compact so that the clamping device has a smaller size.

Surgical instruments and devices including drivers, inserters, and reducers. The driver includes a ratcheting mechanism configured to provide uni-directional motion when engaged. The inserter includes a rack, pinion, and cam system designed to secure an implant and release an implant in-situ. The reducer includes a geared system for persuading together surgical components and aligning misaligned vertebrae.

Tightening member, clamp member and clamp assembly

Disclosed is a tightening member for tightening a clamping device for fixing an accessory to a crossbar of a load carrier. The tightening member includes a coupling portion for detachably coupling the tightening member to a coupling section of the clamping device. The coupling portion is engageable with the coupling section in a torque transferable manner. The tightening member comprises an operating portion configured to be grasped and rotated by a user, and the operating portion is operatively coupled to the coupling portion. The coupling portion includes an accommodating portion for at least partially receiving a force receiving portion of the coupling section therein.

Roller clutch

A locking clutch having an inner race that is rotatable with respect to an outer race. One of the races is cylindrically shaped and rotates adjacent to a race having facets. Rollers are located adjacent to the facets. A cage having fingers may be restrained with respect to the facets to set the starting position of the rollers. The cage may be selectively restrained to determine the direction in which the rollers are wedged to determine a direction that drives the rollers into contact with both races to lock the races with respect to each other. Rotation of the inner race with respect to the outer race in a direction opposite direction is a free rotating direction. The locking clutch is designed to simultaneously engage all of its rollers to evenly distribute the forces amongst them.
