Torque Style Union for Joining Conduit and Tool for Use Therewith
20200070320 · 2020-03-05 ·

A torque operable conduit union and mating spanner wrench are shown for the hammerless coupling of the ends of abutting fluid conduits, such as pipe, hoses, and fittings. A union nut body has an upper peripheral planar face, a lower peripheral planar face and a circumferential side wall. The circumferential side wall has a series of protuberances extending outwardly therefrom which define at least two circumferentially spaced wrench receiving formations. Each of the wrench receiving formations includes a slot portion which communicates with a transverse opening portion of the formation. The mating spanner wrench has a bridge region which spans certain of the receiving formations and engaging tangs which engage the slot portions of the formations for applying torque to the union nut.

A socket tool adapter includes a base member having a first surface and a second surface. First and second jaw members are pivotally connected to the first surface of the base member. The first and second jaw members are configured to move between first and second closed positions and first and second open positions, respectively. The first and second jaw members are configured to receive an accessory when the first and second jaw members are in the open positions. First and second biasing members are connected between the first and second jaw members, respectively, and the base member. The first and second biasing members are configured to bias the first and second jaw members to the first and second closed positions, respectively. A cover member is connected to the second surface of the base member.

Rotary sod cutting and sprinkler cap removal tool
11944024 · 2024-04-02 ·

A combination sod cutting and sprinkler cap removal tool includes a socket having a cavity and outer surface extending between proximal and distal ends, a cutting means disposed circumferentially about the distal end, an internal gear formed within the cavity, and a removable rotating means insertable into the cavity and configured to rotatably engage and be axially arrested by the internal gear whether the rotating means is inserted through the proximal end or the distal end. Interior gear teeth of the internal gear have both inner and outer engagement surfaces. When inserted through the proximal end, the rotating means engages the outer engagement surfaces to configure the distal end of the tool for cutting sod by rotation of the cutting means. When the rotating means engages the internal gear through the distal end, the proximal end of the tool is configured for removing a sprinkler cap by engaging the inner engagement surfaces with gripping surfaces of the cap.

Spanner wrench

A spanner wrench assembly including a base plate having a gripping portion extending from a handle portion and defining an arcuate cavity with an open end. At least one support plate is secured to the gripping portion and substantially matches a configuration of the arcuate cavity. The support plate is of a lesser density material than the base plate. An engagement plate substantially matches the configuration of the arcuate cavity and is secured with respect to the at least one support plate. A cover defines one elongate aperture extending to an open mouth portion formed by an adjacent end of the cover, and another elongate aperture extending to a closed mouth portion dimensioned to accept a connector head which is wider than the elongate apertures.

Installation Tool for a Rotational Coupling Device, Rotational Coupling Device and Installation Tool Kit and Method of Installing a Rotational Coupling Device
20240123579 · 2024-04-18 ·

A tool for installing a rotational coupling device on a shaft, a rotational coupling device and installation tool kit, and a method of installing a rotational coupling device are provided. The coupling device includes a hub disposed about an axis of the shaft and spaced from the shaft. A bore in the hub is aligned with a bore in the shaft and receives a fastener extending through the hub bore and into the shaft bore. The tool includes a body defining an aperture having a shape complementary to a shape of the hub and defining at least one flat and an arm extending from the body in a direction perpendicular to, and away from, the axis. At least a portion of the arm is axially spaced from the hub allowing the tool to access deeply recessed hubs and prevent rotation of the device and shaft as the fastener is rotated.

Temporary fastening tool
10322479 · 2019-06-18 · ·

A temporary fastening tool has a tool main body, a grip, a transmission mechanism, a socket, a plurality of pins, and two magnets. At least a portion of a side surface of the pin protrudes from an inner surface section of the socket toward a central axis of the socket. The magnets are disposed such that centers of the magnets are disposed outside of an imaginary circle having a radius of a circle that circumscribes an outer circumferential section of a screwing member that includes corner sections. The magnets are disposed at positions that do not overlap the pins when the socket is seen from a side of an opening section.

Conduit fitting subassembly and retaining tool

A fitting for a tube or pipe capable of functioning a high pressures having a first fitting component adapted to receive the conduit end; a conduit gripping device such as a ferrule or ferrules and a second fitting component that can be joined to the first fitting component to cause the conduit gripping device to grip the conduit and seal when assembled. In one aspect of the invention, the first fitting component is constructed from a material that is softer than the material used to construct the second fitting component. An additional aspect of the invention include a retaining portion on the second fitting component that constrains the tube gripping device against pressure. The retaining portion can also be configured to retain the tube gripping device to the second fitting component prior to installation and in a finger-tight condition. A further aspect of the invention includes a first fitting component in which an exterior portion of the component is work hardened radially outward from the tube gripping device. The fitting may optionally be provided with a structure to effect the pull-up by torque functionality.

PIPE WRENCHES WITH HOUSINGS HAVING EXPANDED OPENINGS OR SHIMS

Wrenches such as pipe wrenches or Stillson wrenches are described that include particular geometries for a channel extending through the wrench housing. Also described are wrenches such as pipe wrenches or Stillson wrenches that include one or more shim components positioned in the channel. Furthermore, methods to reduce failure or fracturing of the wrench due to application of high side or lateral loads are described.

Looped Handle Valve Wrench

This embodiment provides protection to a person turning a valve hand-wheel while using a valve-wrench from being struck or pinched by a valve-wrench. The present embodiment has a looped handle (FIG. 2, 5B) connected on one end of a conjoining rod (FIG. 2, 8A) that terminates on the opposite end into a fixed wheel-rim engaging jaw (FIG. 2, 7A). By allowing the hand of the user to grip one side of the looped-handle that is not in danger (FIG. 2, 3B) of striking another object during rotational travel (FIG. 2, 6A), the leading parts of the user's hand remain protected from impact within the void (FIG. 2, 4B) of the looped-handle (FIG. 2, 5B) by the opposite side (FIG. 2, 5A) of the looped-handle.
