Methods and Apparatuses for Extracting and Dislodging Fasteners
A method of using a fastener torque-tool body, torque arm, and release bolt to engage a stripped threaded fastener in an object. The method comprising the steps of selecting a torque-tool body suitable for the fastener being removed, engaging the torque-tool body with the fastener, engaging the torque arm with the torque-tool body, applying rotational force to the torque arm to rotate the fastener within the object, engaging the release bolt with the torque-tool body, and applying rotational force to the release bolt to dislodge the fastener from the torque-tool body.
Socket and socket attachment
A socket for rotatably fastening or unfastening a jackbolt of a multi jackbolt tensioner the socket extending between a first end and a second end such that the first end is adapted to receive the jackbolt, the socket comprising: a passage extending along a length of the socket to receive a head of the jackbolt, the passage being defined by a plurality of even-numbered internal side walls dimensioned to engage a plurality of sides of the head of the jackbolt received therein, the socket having a central axis with diametrically opposed pairs of said side walls being parallel to each other, and pairs of adjacent side walls meeting to form corner portions to receive corners of the jackbolt head; a plurality of guiding members arranged circumferentially about an opening of the passage to guide the head of the jackbolt into the passage and align the plurality of sides of the head of jackbolt such that corners of the jackbolt head are aligned into position with corner portions of said pairs of adjacent side walls.
SOCKET DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
A socket assembly may include a fastener socket and a contact member. The contact member may extend through a window formed in the fastener socket in a first direction to engage a fastener head and lock the socket assembly to the fastener head in a locked position. The contact member may also retract at least partially into the window in a second direction to disengage the contact member from the fastener head and unlock the socket assembly from the fastener head in an unlocked position. A threaded actuator may be rotated to transform the socket assembly between the locked position and the unlocked position. The contact member may comprise a tang having first and second tang projections configured to engage first and second surfaces of the fastener head and lock the socket assembly to the fastener head.

Torque transmitting ball joint driver having a rigid fixation mechanism
An articulating driver having a ball-in-socket joint. The driver may include a driver tip having a spherical head, a retention cap having a domed surface to mate with the spherical head, an input shaft, a spring disposed in an end of the input shaft and in a recess of the retention cap opposite that of the domed surface, and a housing that receives the input shaft, the spring, the retention cap and the spherical head. The housing may have a tapered end to positionally retain the spherical head therein. In another aspect, the driver may include a driver tip coupled to the input shaft that includes an interface to engage a screw. A bushing may engage the driver tip at one end and receive the screw at the other end to retain the screw within the driver.

METHODS FOR REMOVING A FASTENER FROM A WAFER CARRIER
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for affixing and/or removing a fastener from a wafer-carrying pod. The system includes a robotic arm with a screw tool assembly disposed at the far end of the robotic arm. The screw tool assembly includes a lower sleeve configured to receive a fastener. A screwdriver is disposed within an upper sleeve of the screw tool assembly, and a motor is provided to rotate the screwdriver. In use, the screw tool assembly is positioned over the fastener so the lower sleeve surrounds the fastener and the screwdriver engages the fastener. The screwdriver unscrews the fastener form the pod, and the fastener head is received within the lower sleeve.
