Bolt clamping force transducer for bolt tightening operation
11529719 · 2022-12-20 · ·

A bolt clamping force transducer for a bolt tightening operation is introduced to tighten a bolted joint by driving a torque rotating shaft in a clamping force transducer, such that a helical mechanism at one end of the torque rotating shaft generates an axial force for pressing a force sensing module and thus generates a strain value thereof. A socket is driven by the other end of the torque rotating shaft, thereby generating a clamping force under which the bolted joint of a specific specification is tightened. A parameter relation between the strain value and the clamping force is calibrated with a standard axial force gauge to facilitate calculation and control of the clamping force during the tightening process where the bolted joint fitted to any torque tool is sensed to control the precision of the clamping force being exerted on the bolted joint, thereby enhancing the quality thereof.

The impulse assembly includes a cylinder at least partially forming a chamber containing a hydraulic fluid, an anvil positioned at least partially within the chamber, and a hammer positioned at least partially within the chamber. The hammer includes a first side facing the anvil and a second side opposite the first side. The impulse assembly further includes a biasing member biasing the hammer towards the anvil, and a valve movable between a first position that permits a first fluid flow rate of the hydraulic fluid in the chamber from the second side to the first side, and a second position that permits a second fluid flow rate of the hydraulic fluid in the chamber from the first side to the second side.

TORQUE CONTROL TOOL

A power tool and method of determining torque is provided. The method of determining torque uses the energy output by the drive mechanism and the angle of rotation of the output shaft to estimate torque. The energy is determined by subtracting efficiency losses (or gains) from a nominal energy of the drive mechanism in order to improve the torque estimation.

Adaptive radial seal regulator

Improved radial pneumatic regulator systems, devices and methods are described herein. Embodiments may comprise regulators with adaptive radial seals to prevent air leakage, provide increased air supply use efficiency, and facilitate more efficient manufacture and assembly of systems. The regulator systems may be used in applications such as for pneumatic power tools.

The cylinder includes a first end, a second end, and a longitudinal axis extending therebetween. The first piston is disposed within the cylinder and movable along the longitudinal axis. The first rod is coupled to the first piston and extends toward the first end of the cylinder. The second piston is disposed within the cylinder and movable along the longitudinal axis. The second rod is coupled to the second piston and extends toward the first end of the cylinder.

OIL LEVEL WARNING AT HYDRAULIC IMPULSE WRENCHES

A method and a device for detecting the oil level in a hydraulic pulse unit at an impulse type power wrench, wherein the pulse unit comprises an oil filled pulse chamber, a motor driven inertia drive member, and a kinetic energy receiving member connected to an output shaft and intermittently coupled to the inertia drive member via an oil cushion to receive kinetic energy from the inertia drive member during repeated energy transfer phases. The rotation speed of the inertia drive member is measured both at the start of a pulse generating phase and at the end of that phase, wherein the two measured speeds are compared to each other, and when the speed at the end of the pulse generating phase exceeds the speed at the end of that phase by a certain percentage a faulty signal is emitted indicating a too low oil level in the pulse unit.
