The angle encoder includes a rotatable signal initiating part and a movement sensor rigidly mounted in the casing, the rotatable signal initiating part being provided with at least one coupling dog adapted to engage cavities located at both ends of the output socket.

Impact fastening tool and torque tester

Provided are: an impact fastening tool which prevents a torque detector from missing a signal and extends service life by adopting a fixed connector that prevents the trouble of being instantaneously separated (bounced) from a rotating electrode by intermittent impacts and has a shape allowing the progression of friction to be delayed structurally; and a torque tester. Both end portions of the fixed connector are fixed, and at least two protrusion portions are formed between the both end portions. The rotating electrode is disposed between one protrusion portion and the other protrusion portion such that the rotating electrode contacts the fixed connector at two or more points or in a line form. A signal required for the torque detecting means is transmitted through the contact between the rotating electrode and the fixed connector.

A power tool is provided. The tool has a housing containing an internal drive system that drives an output member that engages a workpiece and exerts mechanical force thereupon. A force sensor and a positional sensor are operatively connected to the drive system to sense characteristic variables of the drive system during engagement of the workpiece. A light unit is positioned on a front end and a top portion of the housing so as to be able to direct light of various colors onto the workpiece. A control unit is operatively connected to the drive system and the light unit so as to control the light unit based on the characteristic variables of the drive system measured by the sensors. The light unit may illuminate a colored light on the workpiece depending on whether or not the workpiece was determined to be fastened according to predetermined specifications.

Method for the Documented Tightening or Tightening Up of a Screw Connection

In a method for the documented tightening or tightening up of a heavily loaded screw connection of a threaded bolt and a nut screwed on the threaded bolt by using an axially operating tensioning device and a process control unit provided with a documentation module, the screw connection is identified by scanning an identification provided on the screw connection and data determined by scanning the identification is stored in the documentation module. The screw connection is lengthened by the tensioning device by axially pulling on a threaded end of the threaded bolt and a tightening force (F.sub.A) and/or a tightening pressure (P.sub.A) exerted by axially pulling on the threaded end is stored in the documentation module. After lengthening, the nut is turned by using a hand torque wrench and an actually exerted hand torque applied for turning the nut is stored in the documentation module.

The invention relates to a tool system for carrying out an electronically controlled tightening of a high-strength screw connection using a power wrench. In addition to the power wrench there is provided an external operating part, having an input unit for inputting configuration data and a display (main display) for visually displaying to the user information and/or measurement values relating to the torque curve during screwing. To enable a user tightening a screw to obtain feedback about the torque curve during screwing or about an ongoing tightening, independently of the main display of the external operating part, an auxiliary display is provided on the power wrench in addition to the main display provided on the external operating part.

PNEUMATIC IMPULSE WRENCH WITH POWER CONTROL MEANS

A pneumatic impulse wrench includes a housing with a motor powered impulse unit, a pressure air inlet passage, an exhaust air outlet passage located in the housing and connected to the motor, and a motor power controlling valve mechanism located in the exhaust air outlet passage for automatic control of the exhaust air flow from the motor. A control pressure passage extends between the air inlet passage and the valve mechanism for communicating actual air inlet pressure to the valve mechanism. An operating mode shifting valve is provided in the housing and which is shiftable between an open position in which communication is allowed through the control pressure passage in an automatic valve mechanism operating mode, and a closed position in which communication through the control pressure passage is blocked in a manual valve mechanism operating mode.
