SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRELOADING A BEARING AND INSTALLING A TAMPER INDICATING MEMBER
An apparatus for use in connecting a cover member to a retaining member coupled to a nut mounted to a shaft includes a body portion, arms, and a plurality of pressing members. The arms extend from the body portion relative to the nut such that contacting portions of the arms contact a rear side of the nut to connect the body portion to the nut. The plurality of pressing members extend from the body portion and is alignable with the plurality of tabs of a cover member when the cover member is located between the body and the nut. The body portion includes a press mechanism configured to cause a first pressing member of the pressing members to contact a first tab of the cover member to deform the first tab toward a retaining member coupled to the nut mounted on the shaft.
Systems and methods for preloading a bearing
A system for providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft includes an attaching member releasably connectable to the shaft and a press mechanism in fluid communication with a source of fluid and configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. The press mechanism includes a switch having a base and a piston in communication with the fluid such that an increase in a pressure of the fluid results in the piston extending upwardly from the base and a decrease in the pressure of the fluid results in the piston retracting toward the base. The switch includes a lower proximity sensor and a higher proximity sensor. The piston is configured to extend upwardly from the base past the lower proximity sensor and to trip the higher proximity sensor. The switch is configured to control the increase in the pressure in response to the piston tripping the higher proximity sensor.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRELOADING A BEARING AND ALIGNING A LOCK NUT
An apparatus for providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft includes an attaching member releasably connectable to the shaft. A press mechanism is coupled to the attaching member and is configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. An optical sending unit is configured to output a high intensity light to allow a user to locate a shaft slot of the shaft to align the press mechanism relative to the shaft when the attaching member connects to the shaft.
Device for removing a valve and cage assembly from a machine
The device comprises an anchoring plate configured for anchoring the device to a machine casing. The device further comprises a terminal plate connected to the anchoring plate at a distance there from, and a slide arranged for movement between the anchoring plate and the terminal plate. The device further includes a connecting arrangement configured for connecting the slide to a valve and cage assembly to be removed from the machine.
Puller
A puller for pulling an element, such as a pulley or seal, from an assembly to which it is fitted. The puller generally includes a central body having a longitudinal axis, an adjustment ring threaded on the body for moving longitudinally with rotation, slide followers coupled to the ring and moving longitudinally with ring rotation, a plurality of leg assemblies, each including a foot and two legs pivotly attaching the foot to the body so as to form a parallelogram, and a arm pivotly connecting each slide follower to a leg assembly for expanding or contracting the leg assembly. Each foot has one or more foot flanges, each with an engagement surface for engaging with the element to be pulled; the orientation of the engagement surfaces being predetermined so as to not disengage from the element and to provide uniform pull and minimum pressure.
Puller structure
A puller structure includes a threaded rod, a connecting member, a fixing base, and a driven base. The connecting member is topped with a wing nut. The threaded rod extends downward through the wing nut, the fixing base, and the driven base. The connecting member has a lower portion fixedly connected to the driven base. The fixing base includes a plurality of first fixing arms that extend permanently and obliquely upward. The driven base includes a plurality of second fixing arms that extend outward. The first fixing arms correspond in position respectively to and are shorter than the second fixing arms. Each first or second fixing arm is provided with a groove that extends in the same direction as the fixing arm. A gripping arm is slidably provided in the grooves of each corresponding pair of fixing arms through two pairs of protruding blocks respectively.
Apparatus for preloading a bearing
A method for preloading a bearing includes releasably, threadably, and directly attaching an attaching member to a circumferential outside surface of an exposed end of a threaded shaft of an axle or spindle. A frame is axially separated from, and coupled to, the attaching member. A plurality of extensions extends from the frame axially past the attaching member toward the wheel hub assembly. An adjustment mechanism moves the frame and the plurality of extensions axially towards the wheel hub assembly to contact the wheel hub assembly and/or the bearing to apply a preload to the bearing within the wheel hub assembly.
Tool and method for inserting and removing components
A tool for inserting and removing components, in particular bearings, bushes or the like, particularly in the automotive sector, has a spindle, a first sleeve body having a first ramp-form outer circumferential surface and a through-hole, through which the spindle can be axially guided, a second sleeve body having a second ramp-form outer circumferential surface and a through-hole, through which the spindle can be axially guided, and also a first pressure body and a second pressure body.
APACHE HELICOPTER STABILIZER BEARING REPLACEMENT KIT
The invention herein comprises a kit and method that may be used to replace damaged and worn stabilizer bearings in both the Echo and Delta Apache helicopter. The kit includes a removal assembly that includes a bolt coupled to a cutting means. Tightening of the bolt causes the cutting means to cut the damaged and worn bearing from its housing. A staking means is disclosed that allows the staking of a replacement bearing in the housing is provided. The staking assembly joins the replacement bearing to the housing so that it is tight. And, an installation assembly is disclosed that utilizes the bolt utilized in the cutting means coupled to a hex nut.
SLEEVE INSTALLER
A sleeve installer is provided, including: a threaded rod; an abutting unit, disposed around and movable along the threaded rod, including first and second abutting assemblies, one of the first and second abutting assemblies being configured to be abutted against a barrel portion of a sleeve assembly, the other of the first and second abutting assemblies being configured to be abutted against a tubular member of the sleeve assembly; and a push unit, including first and second push members which are connected to two opposite ends of the threaded rod, at least one of the first and second push members being movably screwed to the threaded rod, the first push member including a head portion and an urging assembly located at a side of the head portion, the urging assembly and the second push member being respectively abutted against two opposite sides of the abutting unit.
