Systems and methods for removing bearing cups
A bearing cup removal tool for removing a bearing cup from a bearing casting comprises a collar assembly and a displacing assembly. The collar assembly comprises a clamp member and a clamp assembly, where the clamp member defines a clamp surface. The clamp assembly deforms the clamp member to alter a shape of the clamp surface such that the clamp member may be configured to surround at least a portion of the bearing cup and the clamp member may be configured to frictionally engage at least a portion of the bearing cup to secure the clamp member to the bearing cup. The displacing assembly engages the clamp member and is adapted to engage the bearing casting such that operation of the displacing assembly forces the clamp member away from the bearing casting.
BEARING REMOVAL TOOL
A bearing removal tool includes a plurality of hook arms and a connecting disk. Each hook arm has a connecting space for engaging with a peripheral portion of the connecting disk, and there are specific dimensional relationships between the connecting spaces and the connecting disk such that, once the connecting disk is fitted into the connecting spaces of the hook arms, the user only has to move the hook arms laterally for a predetermined distance in order for the hook arms to be restricted by the connecting disk and prevented from separating from the connecting disk. The bearing removal tool, therefore, can be put together more easily and more rapidly than its prior art counterparts.
APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR REMOVING A COMPONENT
An apparatus is provided for removing a component from a device, where the component includes a cylindrical portion and a shoulder adjacent the cylindrical portion. The apparatus includes a base, a puller and a shaft. The base includes a first mount, a second mount and a bridge extending between and connected to the first mount and the second mount. The first mount and the second mount are each configured to engage with the device. The puller includes a forked flange configured to abut against the shoulder of the component when the cylindrical portion of the component is within a channel of the forked flange. The shaft includes a threaded portion mated with a threaded aperture in the bridge. A distal end portion of the shaft is rotatably connected to the puller.
WHEEL RIM REMOVAL TOOL
A puller device for removing a component from another component, such as a wheel rim or pulley from an axle. The illustrative puller device includes a cross yoke, a pair of couplers that are movable along the yoke, and a forcing screw. The underside of the yoke may include steps or lands that are spaced to assist in centering the yoke into a wheel rim to be removed.
Bearing race installer/remover
A puller/installer comprises a draw plate, a split ring, a cap plate, and at least one draw member. The draw plate defines a draw plate cam surface. The split ring defines at least one split plate cam surface and is arranged such that the at least one split plate cam surface is in contact with the draw plate cam surface. The at least one draw member is arranged to draw the cap plate and the draw plate towards each other such that the draw plate cam surface engages the at least one split plate cam surface to deform the split ring to alter an effective diameter of the bearing race puller/installer.
Extraction device of a platform for holding a blade and method using this device
An extraction device of a platform for holding a blade fitted with an upstream flange, out of a turbomachine rotor disc, and extraction method using the device. The device includes a handle fitted with a radial annular shoulder extended by a threaded pin, a proximal ring and a distal ring having a tube extended by a radial collar and a sleeve. The proximal ring is arranged around the pin, the tapped distal ring being screwed onto the other end of the pin and the sleeve being arranged around the two rings between their respective collars. Screwing of the handle results in moving the distal ring towards the proximal ring, radial deformation of the distal part of the sleeve against the flared part of the cylindrical orifice of the flange and its being joined to the latter. It is possible to conjointly extract the platform and the device from the disc.
Detachment puller
A detachment puller is provided, including a main body, having a threaded hole and a plurality of pivoting portions circumferentially disposed around the threaded hole; a screw rod, screwed with the threaded hole; a plurality of jaws, respectively pivoted to the plurality of pivoting portions, each of the plurality of jaws including an abutted portion; an adjustment mechanism, elastically and movably disposed on the main body, the adjustment mechanism including a plurality of engaging portions, each of the plurality of engaging portions including a first abutting portion and a second abutting portion, the abutted portion being located between the first and second abutting portions, the first abutting portion being movable toward a first direction to press the abutted portion, the second abutting portion being movable toward a second direction to press the abutted portion, the first and second directions being opposite to each other.
Tool for extracting and installing a seal from an engine housing having a shaft
The present invention is a tool for extracting and installing a seal or gasket from an engine housing having a shaft such as an outboard boat motor having a propeller shaft. The present invention allows the seal to be removed from or installed around the shaft, without the need to remove or disassemble the engine housing. The present invention may include a central body portion, a first cylindrical body portion having a proximal end that is carried by the central body portion, a second cylindrical body portion having a proximal end that is carried by the central body portion, a bore hole that extends through the first cylindrical body portion, the central body portion and the second cylindrical body portion and a plurality of alignment holes for guiding a fastener to the seal without contacting the shaft so that the seal may be secured to the tool, the alignment holes.
CROSS FIRE TUBE INSTALLATION/REMOVAL METHODS AND APPARATUS
The present application provides a cross fire tube installation/removal apparatus (100) for use with a combustor (25) of a gas turbine engine (10). The cross fire tube installation/removal apparatus (100) includes a cross fire tube assembly (110) having a sleeve (120, 130) with a tube groove (170, 180) therein and a cross fire tube tool (300) having a spring (390) with a spring flange (440). The spring flange (340) is sized to engage the tube groove (170, 180).
PULLER STRUCTURE
A puller structure includes a threaded rod, a connecting member, a fixing base, and a driven base. The connecting member is topped with a wing nut. The threaded rod extends downward through the wing nut, the fixing base, and the driven base. The connecting member has a lower portion fixedly connected to the driven base. The fixing base includes a plurality of first fixing arms that extend permanently and obliquely upward. The driven base includes a plurality of second fixing arms that extend outward. The first fixing arms correspond in position respectively to and are shorter than the second fixing arms. Each first or second fixing arm is provided with a groove that extends in the same direction as the fixing arm. A gripping arm is slidably provided in the grooves of each corresponding pair of fixing arms through two pairs of protruding blocks respectively.
