A power tool is provided including a housing; an electric motor disposed within the housing; a main trigger switch mounted on the housing; a side handle mounted on the housing, the side handle having an auxiliary trigger; and a controller disposed within the housing operable to control a flow of electric current from a power source to the electric motor. The controller activates the motor only if the main trigger and the auxiliary trigger are both actuated. If the one of the triggers is released while the other trigger is still engaged, the controller is configured to continue operating the motor only if the released trigger is reengaged within a time threshold, but otherwise discontinue operating the motor until both the main trigger and the auxiliary triggers are released and reengaged.

A power tool comprises an adjustable auxiliary handle assembly that facilities safe use of the tool by the operator while allowing convenient carry and storage of the tool when not in use. The adjustable auxiliary handle assembly comprises an indexing mechanism that includes an angled connector, a slidable latching mechanism and a handle base. The indexing mechanism allows a longitudinal handle to rotate and be locked in a position convenient and comfortable to the operator. The indexing mechanism is adjustable and can be operated with one hand (e.g., one-handed operation). The latching mechanism holds the auxiliary handle position in place while allowing the power tool to be used in high-torque/high load applications.
Tool with wireless switch
An electric tool is provided with a second switch that is actuated in order for the tool to be used. The second switch is on a second handle that is grasped by the operator with a different hand than the hand that actuates the main trigger switch. Communication between the second switch and the tool occurs with a wireless signal indicating that the second switch has been actuated.

Systems and methods for power tools having touch sensors. One power tool includes a housing, a motor, a first handle, a second handle, and a controller. The first handle includes a user input configured to be actuated by a first hand of a user. The second handle includes a touch sensor configured to detect a second hand of the user on the second handle. The controller is configured to determine whether the user input is actuated, determine whether the second hand of the user is on the second handle, control, in response to both the user input being actuated and the second hand of the user being on the second handle, the motor to drive the motor, and prohibit, in response to the user input being actuated and the second hand of the user not being on the second handle, operation of the motor.

The device herein is a gripping means that may reversibly attach to the main shaft of a standard weed trimmer or edger. The gripping means comprises an ergonomic handle positioned onto a shaft, a shaft that connects the ergonomic handle to a clamping means, and a clamping means that clamps the device onto the main shaft of a standard weed trimmer or edger. The gripping means positions a grip above the standard grip of the weed trimmer or edger. Alternately, the gripping means may position a grip perpendicular to the standard grip of the weed trimmer or edger.

An electric working machine in one aspect of the present disclosure includes a motor; an acceleration sensor; a load-determiner; a filter part having a cutoff frequency; and a filter-property setting part. The filter part removes an unwanted signal component from a detection signal from the acceleration sensor based on the cutoff frequency and inputs, to the load-determiner, the detection signal with the unwanted signal component removed. The filter-property setting part changes the cutoff frequency of the filter part such that a cutoff frequency in a high-speed rotation mode is higher than a cutoff frequency in a low-speed rotation mode.

A power tool includes a housing, a drive mechanism supported within the housing, a spindle operatively coupled to an output of the drive mechanism such that torque from the drive mechanism rotates the spindle about an axis, and an accessory removably coupled to the housing. The drive mechanism is configured to supply up to a first maximum torque to the spindle when the accessory is removed from the housing. The drive mechanism is configured to supply up to a second maximum torque to the spindle greater than the first maximum torque when the accessory is coupled to the housing.
