A slide portion of a first adapter is fitted into a slot of a second adapter, and a ball is disposed between a cam member supported by the slide portion and an opening edge portion constituting the slot. The ball can advance toward or retreat from an engagement groove of the opening edge portion by movement of the cam member. By operating a release button connected integrally with the cam member and also sliding the first adapter and the second adapter relative to each other, the ball retreats, and the first adapter and the second adapter are separated from each other.

An engagement recess (52) provided on an outer periphery of the operating rod (22) has a cam surface (52a) configured to make engagement with an engagement ball (51). There is provided a support hole (53) configured to allow movement of the engagement ball (51) in a radial direction of operating rod (22) and to restrict movement of the engagement ball (51) in the axial direction of the operating rod (22). A pressing member (54) configured to press the engagement ball (51) is provided, and the pressing member (54) has a force-multiplying surface (54a).

Quick Disconnect Apparatus for Modular Tooling

A modular tooling receiver includes a housing having a wall and a port, and an engaging member movably disposed in the port. A lock actuator is moveable between a first position and a second position. The release lever is connected to the housing and is engageable with the lock actuator for causing movement of the lock actuator from the first position toward the second position. An anti-release mechanism is connected to the release lever and is movable between an engaged position, in which the anti-release mechanism engages the housing to restrain movement of the release lever to prevent movement of the lock actuator from the first position to the second position, and a disengaged position, in which the anti-release mechanism disengages the housing to allow movement of the release lever.

A quick connection device includes: a sleeved connected with a first member and a moving assembly movably disposed in the sleeve. The moving assembly includes: a support base disposed in the sleeve; a mounting base, configured to be connected with a second member and movable along the axial direction relative to the support base; a locking member, fixed to the mounting base and configured to cooperate with the support base to achieve a locking state and an unlocking state and restrict movement of the mounting base towards a direction away from the support base when in the locking state and allow movement of the mounting base towards a direction away from the support base when in the unlocking state; and a limiting member, configured to restrict movement of the moving assembly in the sleeve when the mounting base is in an initial position corresponding to the locking state.

Robotic apparatus, interchangeable tool, and method for controlling robotic apparatus

An interchangeable tool including a finger of a shape suitable for various components is mechanically detachably mounted to a robot arm. This eliminates the need for seeking the origin of the actuator for each interchange. By interchanging fingers themselves, the entire end effector can be reduced in size and weight.

Device for connecting a tool to a robot arm
09815208 · 2017-11-14 · ·

A device for connecting a tool to an arm of a robot, comprising: —a body (2; 32) having an annular wall provided with openings (6; 36), received within which are one or more balls (8; 38), which are mobile within said openings between an inoperative position and an operative position, in said operative position said balls projecting from said wall to engage corresponding portions of said tool and clamping the latter on said arm; and —a piston (4; 34), configured for co-operating with said balls and governed fluid-dynamically between a first position and a second position, wherein, in said second position, —said piston forces said-balls into said operative position, and, in said first position, said piston releases said balls so that they can move into said inoperative position. The device is characterized in that it comprises safety means (15, 55, 65, 75), which, in an active condition thereof, engage said piston (4; 34) in said second position so as to block it in said second position in order to prevent displacement of said balls into said inoperative position.

Robotic Tool Changer Coupling Mechanism with Increased Torsional Rigidity and Reduced Freeplay

To substantially eliminate torsional freeplay in a robotic tool changer having a ball-lock coupling mechanism, scallop-like features in the form of cross-contact recesses are formed in at least one of, and preferably both of, a bearing race in a tool assembly at the points of contact of rolling members, and in the opposing inner surfaces of bores containing the rolling members in a master assembly. The cross-contact recesses are sized and shaped to receive a rolling member, but have a central void, or channel, perpendicular to the rolling member's motion in torsional freeplay, which does not contact the rolling member. The cross-contact recess contacts the rolling member at contact areas on either side of the central void. These contact areas impart two separate contact forces on the rolling member, both angled toward the center of the rolling member and hence operative to prevent side-to-side movement, or rocking, of the rolling member within the cross-contact recess, and hence substantially eliminating torsional freeplay of the robotic tool changer.

Pin, Toroidal Spring Socket, and High-Current Connector for a Robotic Device

A pin and socket that form a connector to pass high current from a robotic device to a tool. The pin includes a separate non-conductive cap section and a conductive contact section along the length. The socket includes a body with an interior space and a body opening that leads into the interior space. A toroidal spring is positioned in the interior space of the body and includes an annular shape with a toroidal spring opening that aligns with the body opening. When fully inserted, the contact section of the pin contacts against the toroidal spring and the cap section is positioned in the interior space away from the toroidal spring.

SWAGE END EFFECTOR WITH AUTOMATED FASTENER SIZE CHANGE CAPABILITY

A lockbolt swage end effector incorporates a swage tool releasably engaged by a connector assembly to hydraulic operator carried in a frame. A two piece core-bolt operably connects the swage tool and the hydraulic operator through the connector assembly. A connection flange attaches the frame to a mating flange on a robotic manipulator.
