Folding knife with locking mechanism
Folding knife embodiments are disclosed herein comprising a blade operable to pivot relative to a handle, between an open position and a closed position, about a pivot axis extending through a tang portion of the blade having at least one locking recess. The knife can have a locking mechanism comprising a rod that extends along the pivot axis through the tang portion and a locking member coupled to the rod which engages the at least one locking recess of the tang portion when the blade is in at least one of the open position or the closed position. The knife can further comprise a push button coupled to the rod, wherein depression of the push button is configured to eject the locking member from the locking recess in the blade, thereby unlocking the blade.
Double spring folding knife
A double spring folding knife includes a handle having a curvilinear groove on an interior surface, and a knife blade. The knife blade has a locking pin that extends away from a first side of the knife blade and is configured to slidingly engage the curvilinear groove. A bow spring is fixed to the handle and is orientated to interact with the locking pin in order to exert a force on the locking pin during a portion of travel along the curvilinear groove. The knife also includes a coil spring having a first end fixed to the handle and a second end fixed to a second side of the knife blade, where the coil spring is configured to exert an opening force on the knife blade after the locking pin has traveled past the bow spring along the curvilinear groove.
SELF-DEFENSE DEVICE
A self-defense device comprises a knife comprising a handle, body, arm and blade, wherein the handle is coupled to the body and the arm is coupled to the body and blade. The handle, arm and blade are each configured to move relative to the body between retracted and extended positions. In an embodiment, the body preferably has a substantially round perimeter and the blade has a substantially curved outer edge matching the curve of the body's perimeter. In such an embodiment, the handle, arm and blade each substantially retract into the body's perimeter when in their retracted positions.
UTILITY KNIFE
An ergonomically designed, auto-retracting utility knife that can safely remain in the user's hand while performing non cutting tasks. This invention allows a person to continue with the jobs they were performing by having the ability to use both hands and not having to set the utility knife down between manual tasks, thus saving time and increasing efficiency. An auto-retracting blade decreases the risk lacerations and other hand/wrist injuries to the user and others during routine use of the knife.
Tool with replaceable component
A tool having a replaceable component is disclose. In one aspect, the tool has a handle and an armature rotatably coupled to a first end of the handle. The armature is configured to be disposed at least partially within a cavity of the handle in a first position and extended outside of the handle in a second position. In another aspect, the tool is removably coupled to a distal end of the handle extending generally in the same longitudinal direction as the handle. A tool is removably coupled to the handle in an improved manner that optimizes safety and efficiency.
LOCK-BLADE KNIFE FOR COOKING PURPOSES
A lock-blade knife for cooking purposes comprises a housing, a blade pivotally attached to the housing and a locking mechanism. The blade is rotatable relative to the housing between a closed position and a least one cutting position. The locking mechanism is configured to lock the blade in the at least one cutting position. The locking mechanism comprises a biasing member, an engagement structure, and a grasping member. The engagement structure is disposed on the blade, and the grasping member is displaceable from a locking position into a releasing position. The grasping member is biased into the releasing position. The grasping member is in engagement with the engagement structure in the locking position when cutting to lock the blade in position. The blade is rotatable between the cutting position and the closed position when the grasping member is manually displaced into the releasing position.
FOLDING KNIFE WITH ROTATABLE FINGER TAB
A folding knife includes a handle and a blade rotatably connected to the handle, the blade rotatable between a closed position and an opened position about a blade axis. A finger tab is useable to rotate the blade from the closed position to the opened position, the finger tab rotatably connected to the blade and rotatable between a retracted position and an extended position about a tab axis parallel to the blade axis. A torsion spring biases the finger tab toward the retracted position.
MULTI-FUNCTIONAL RESCUE TOOL WITH ANGLED BLADE
A multifunctional rescue tool providing a plurality of tool components including an angled blade to disengage a lock shielded by a blocker plate and wherein the angled blade has a base portion and an integral elongate distal portion forming an angle along a contiguous planar surface that is preferably substantially perpendicular and is pivotally coupled to a handle having a corresponding slot configured for receiving the angled blade wherein the elongate distal portion is angled outwardly from the base portion of the angled blade in a preferably perpendicular orientation when the base portion and handle are locked in substantial alignment in an open position, and the angled blade is alternatively engageable to form additional angles to facilitate construction of raker shores while also including various tool components including a window breaker, seat belt cutter, gas shut off, oxygen tank, hexagonal wrenches, as well as, a lanyard, shove knife, and cutting knife in a compact configuration capable of convenient and ready carrying and stowing in a pocket or wearable gear of a firefighter or other first responder.
FOLDING TOOL WITH AN ASSISTED OPENING MECHANISM
A folding knife includes a handle and a blade, rotatably connected to the handle with an axial shaft. The handle has two or more parts, together the parts of the handle form a cavity in which the blade is placed in the closed position. The blade has a working sharpened edge and a shank, and rotates about the axial shaft from the closed position, in which the working sharpened edge of the blade is positioned within the cavity, to the open position, in which the working sharpened edge of the blade protrudes from the handle and allows the cutter to be used. One of the parts of the handle includes an additional recess containing a zigzag spring and a hook. One end of the spring is connected to the handle, and its other end is connected to the hook. The hook is pivotally connected to the blade of the knife and transmits to it the force of the stretched spring, which allows the knife to open under the force of compression of the spring. The shape of the hook is such that it partially encircles the axis of the knife, and the place where the hook is connected to the blade is such that the folded knife does not open under the influence of the spring until the user withdraws the blade from the folded position to a certain angle, thereby initiating further opening of the knife under the influence of the spring.
