FOLDING ASSEMBLIES WITH LOCKING AND OPEN AND CLOSE ASSIST MECHANISMS
A folding assembly having first and second members that are pivotally attached to one another. A locking pin is disposed through the first member and second member and selectively actuatable to unlock the pivoting and opening or closing of the first and second members relative to one another. A spring-assist mechanism includes a primary spring element and a secondary spring element which act in conjunction to successively apply an opening force to the first or second member as it is opened. The assembly also includes a close-assist mechanism for partially closing the first and second members relative to one another.
ASSISTED OPENING AND CLOSING KNIFE WITH LOCK
A knife includes a handle and a blade that is rotatably coupled to the handle. A locking assembly is provided and includes a lock pin, an omega spring, and a transfer bar coupled between the lock pin and the omega spring for biasing the lock pin into a locking position to lock the knife closed or open. The locking assembly may further include a supplemental omega spring on an opposing side of the knife to further assist in biasing the lock pin into the locking position. A torsion bar is also provided within the handle to provide assisted opening functionality. The transfer bar extends at least partially through the handle to locate the omega spring in the handle offset from the torsion bar. The locking assembly assists with holding the blade in the open and closed positions, while the torsion bar aids in assisted opening and closing of the blade.
Shaft-locking folding knife
Provided is a shaft-locking folding knife including: a blade pivotally disposed between two side plates and having a first engaging portion and a second engaging portion, with the side plate each having a slotted hole and a pivotal hole; a telescopic rod unit with one end pivotally disposed between the two pivotal holes of the two side plates and the other end having a bolt disposed between the two slotted holes, the telescopic rod unit having a blocking portion engaged with the first engaging portion or the second engaging portion of the blade; and a control element disposed at an extensible rod of the telescopic rod unit and exposed from the two side plates.
Easy-to-Maintain and Elasticity-Adjustable Knife
An easy-to-maintain and elasticity-adjustable knife comprises a blade, a pair of liners and a pair of pull rod springs. The liners are connected by means of spacer sleeves, a stop rod is arranged in a first mounting clearance, an end, opposite to a blade tip, of the blade is connected to the liners by means of a spindle, sliding slots are formed in corresponding positions of the liners, and a pull rod is mounted in the sliding slots. An arc tip is arranged at the end, where the spindle is arranged, of the blade, a first clamping groove is formed in one side of the arc tip, and a second clamping groove is formed in the other side of the arc tip. The force of the pull rod can be easily adjusted without disassembling the whole knife, and the knife is easy to maintain.
Folding knife, folding knife kit, knife kit, and methods
A folding knife includes a handle, a blade, and first and second bearing pivots. The handle has first and second bearing apertures that open to an exterior of the handle. The blade is disposable at least partially within the handle and between the first and second bearing apertures. The first and second bearing pivots are insertable respectively into the first and second bearing apertures. Each of the first and second bearing pivots includes a thrust bearing surface, and at least one of the first and second bearing pivots includes a radial bearing surface about which the blade is configured to rotate. At least one of the first and second bearing pivots is selectively replaceable from the exterior of the handle to convert the knife between manual and automatic functions.
Knife with push button assisted-open mechanism
A folding knife with a push button assisted-open mechanism is disclosed. The folding knife comprising a handle with at least two handle sides spaced apart and defining a blade cavity; a blade pivotally connected to the handle, wherein the blade comprises a drive pin connected to and extending out from a side of the blade; a toggle component pivotally connected to at least one of the at least two handle sides at a pivot pin, wherein the toggle component comprises a retaining notch; and a spring comprising an arcuate segment along a longitudinal axis of the spring. The spring is coupled to at least one of the at least two handle sides at one end and the toggle component at another end, wherein the drive pin is positioned within the retaining notch when at least part of the blade is folded into the blade cavity.
LOCKABLE TOOL WITH SLIDING SCALE RELEASE
A lockable tool with a sliding scale release is formed with a frame and a tool coupled to the frame with a locking mechanism to lock the tool into an extended or retracted configuration. A release mechanism is attached to a scale on the side of the frame. The scale is coupled to the frame. The tool is constructed such that sliding the scale along a longitudinal axis of the frame automatically unlocks the tool from the extended or retracted configurations. The tool can open and/or close automatically. The tool, such as a knife, can swing open or extend out a front opening in the frame.
Folding knife safety mechanism
A folding knife with a locking mechanism is provided. The folding knife includes a locking spring that interfaces with a recess in the blade to bias the blade from being pivoted out of the handle. A button interfaces with the locking spring to actuate the locking spring interfacing with the blade.
AUTO OPENING FOLDING KNIFE BLADE ENGAGEMENT LOCK
An auto opening folding knife having a blade pivoted from a closed position to a spring urged release open locked position with a combined self-activating sliding auto release and locking arm. The sliding auto release and locking arm is mounted within the knife handle on dual fixed guide and pivot pins within respective arm openings being spring urged there against. Arm positional projections are engaged on a modified blade shank during operation moving the locking arm back and up then releasing to slide forward locking the blade in auto open use position until manual arm engagement by the user against the arm spring and blade spring for release and transitional closure.
Blade lock mechanism
An apparatus relating to opening/closing a knife includes an actuator including a pivot. The apparatus includes a lock frame including a first end and a second end. The first end includes a lock protruding portion and an extension portion. The second end includes a tapered portion, and the actuator is rotatably mounted via the pivot to the extension portion. The apparatus for opening/closing a knife also includes a tension member. The apparatus for opening/closing a knife also includes a lock mount portion. The lock protruding portion includes a guide post to secure the lock frame to the lock mount portion. The apparatus for opening/closing a knife also includes a bolt, and the tension member is captive between the actuator, the lock frame, and the bolt.
