Cutting unit

A cutting unit having a blade carrier carrying a cutting blade, and a guard. The guard includes a blade-facing surface engaging the cutting blade at a cut location, a planar guard contact surface for contacting the user's skin, where the guard contact surface is angled with respect to the blade-facing surface, and a guard extender separate from the guard. The guard extender includes a planar extension contact surface cooperating with the guard contact surface to provide an extended contact zone across the guard and the guard extender for contacting a user's skin. The blade-facing surface and the guard contact surface converge towards a tip of the guard, such that a cutting direction extends along the guard contact surface towards the tip. The extended contact zone may provide for improved stability and reliable orientation of the cutting unit for cutting while limiting material use.

Blade unit and electric razor

An electric razor reduces damage to the skin during shaving. The electric razor includes a head portion that holds a comb-shaped outer blade and mesh-shaped outer blades each of which extends in a first direction so as to be movable in a second direction intersecting the first direction, comb blade urging members that urge the comb-shaped outer blade in the second direction, mesh blade urging members that urge the mesh-shaped outer blades in the second direction, and an engaging mechanism that, when the mesh-shaped outer blades are moved toward a unit base against urging force of the mesh blade urging members, moves the comb-shaped outer blade in a state where the comb-shaped outer blade does not protrude from the mesh-shaped outer blades with respect to the unit base.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PLACEMENT OF HAIR FIBERS

The trimmer/shaper can be readily gripped by a hand of a user. A neck can accept either a trimmer head or a shaper head or just the shaper head. Both heads include a stationary element and a reciprocating element which moves relative to the stationary element. On the trimmer head the two elements are cutting blades which cut hair that comes between the two cutting blades. For the shaper head, the two elements are non-cutting plates which are sufficiently blunt to substantially not cut hair, but are able to displace hair fibers by vibratory contact from a position where they are initially placed. Hair fibers are placed in a region where a hairline is to be modified. The trimmer head and/or shaper head are then selected to remove unwanted natural hair and/or hair fibers from one side of the hairline, to leave a crisp new hairline.

Pressure sensing electric shaver

An electric shaver having a shaving unit and a sensor with a first sensor unit fixed to a main body and a second sensor unit fixed to a sensor unit carrier, for indicating a distance between the sensor units. The shaving unit and the sensor unit carrier are suspended to the main body for displacement along a z-axis between a rest position and a pushed-in position in response to a pushing force exerted onto a shaving face of the shaver. The first and second sensor units are located in positions offset from the z-axis over a distance (d) in an x-direction. An anti-tilting guide is provided for guiding the sensor unit carrier against tilting about a y-axis.

PORTABLE HAIR REMOVAL APPARATUS

The present invention provides for a shaving device and more specifically, to a portable, conical shaped shaving apparatus with a central element, top and bottom caps, and when assembled, the apparatus is designed to look like a cosmetic container.

Universal Comb Fade Blade

The present invention is a universal comb fade blade that has a cutting blade and a comb blade. The cutting blade has a clipper mount, a plurality of cutting blade holes and cutting blade teeth. The cutting blade is made of metal or ceramic material. The comb blade has screw holes and comb blade teeth. The screw holes allow the present invention to attach to any external hair clipper device. The cutting blade is positioned offset above the comb blade allowing the two to create a scissor motion cutting hair follicles in between the two. The cutting blade facilitates back and forth movement along the comb blade. The clipper mount secures the clipper blade to an external hair clipper device and does not interfere with the hair being cut, allowing the present invention to attach to any external hair clipper device.

Coupling assembly for use in a personal care appliance

A coupling assembly is provided which includes a coupling element and a retaining member. One of the coupling element and the retaining member includes at least one cam element and another of the coupling element and the retaining member includes at least one notch. Both the cam element and the notch have two oppositely sloped surfaces. In a coupled position of the coupling assembly, the cam element and the notch only contact each other at two sides through the sloped surfaces at the position of a contact portion at a base of the cam element and an associated contact portion of the notch at an open side of the notch.

Portable electric shaver

The present invention provides for a shaving device and more specifically, to a portable shaving apparatus designed to look like a cosmetic container.

SPACING COMB AND HAIR CUTTING APPLIANCE

A spacing comb for a hair cutting appliance. The comb includes a support frame, a series of comb teeth each having a frontal portion and a rear portion, wherein the comb teeth extend from the support frame. The support frame includes a frontal connector bar and a rear connector plate, wherein the frontal portions of the comb teeth extend from the frontal connector bar. The frontal connector bar is inwardly curved towards the rear connector plate, such that a central portion of the frontal connector bar is rearwardly offset from lateral portions thereof. Also described herein is a hair cutting appliance that is equipped with such a spacing comb.

Hair cutting system and attachment

There is disclosed an attachment (22) for a cutting head (100) of a hair cutting device (1). The attachment (22) comprises first and second side portions (24, 26) configured to cover, respectively, first and second sides (112, 114) of a stationary cutting member (115) of the cutting head (100), and an intermediate portion (28) interconnecting the first and second side portions (24, 26) and configured to cover an outer surface (120b) of a first wall portion (120) of the stationary cutting member (115). The first and second side portions (24, 26) are configured to protrude relative to the plurality of primary cutter teeth (118) of the stationary cutting member (115), which define a cutting zone of the cutting head. The first and second side portions (24, 26) and the intermediate portion (28) define a recess exposing the primary cutter teeth (118) of the stationary cutting member (115). The recess is non-interrupted over a distance of at least 50% of the length of the cutting zone.
